I would predict a replacement would come from the Big East with exception of Pitino. Someone like Hurley, Smart or even some of the others.

Are you saying you think Hurley would leave UConn for UL? That would be a terrible move for any top coach.

They’re going have to hope to find some up and comer mid major coach, it’s been a graveyard since Pitino was forced out. Maybe they could get Will Wade, but that’s about the only “name” coach I could see wanting to jump into the dumpster fire.

Cal's tree is pathetic tbh. No coach from his branch is seemingly any good at what they do. Even recruiting. Justus? Awful. KP? Not great. Antigua? Meh and cheated.

Rick is the only coach I know that has a solid coaching tree. Tubby and Donovan were very successful

Yeah. Those are two pretty good ones but even guys like Herb Sendek was doing good enough to stay at places like NC State and Arizona St for over 25years Frank Vogel got a COVID yr chip. Mick Cronin, but I can't stand Cronin for some reason. Something irks me about him. Ralph Willard could've had a better career if he had wanted it more. I think he kind of preferred being a no. 2 guy honestly. He had an odd career.

Pelphrey is terrible. And I actually still hear or see ppl say hire him next. They say Pel knows everything Rick and BD knows hire him lol! That's when you know they don't know he over at Tenn Tech winning 7 games a year and got em bowl eligible in 🏀 anyway. 😂

Can go on and on about that🎄. Guys with great to good to shitty careers fall out of it.

Chris Mack had them ranked number 1 I do believe at one point since Pitino. That could be a good job again and it can be brought back to life. Not saying who it'll be. I just see your comment about it being graveyard after Pitino. So I'm just kind of entering this without reading all the way through yet.

Well maybe I had read it all the way through 😂. You never know where these dudes wind up at with the money though but I can see Hurley being happy in that part of the country closer to home and at a school he done won at. But it will go stale at some point.

I don’t think he will ever be offered another HC job but I think he will get other decent assistant jobs down the road.
