Great. He is very good and that hurts Duke. I have to imagine if he is going than like Briscoe, Gracie would feel left behind if he doesn't go as well.
Next season is really going to boil down to recruiting more than ever. Whomever wins the Bamba and Knox race really can be a difference.

Now we know for a fact who's the smarter player between Allen and Kennard. Allen comes back, destroys his stock and image, and Kennard says "I'm good" and rolls out. That's how this is supposed to work. For some reason it just doesn't at Duke. Kennard should have played at UK

Javin Delaurier will be back. Good athlete at 6'10, He should be a good role player for them but definitely a transition year unless some more recruits come in.
Great news! I hope allen comes back because there is still a log jam. He will start at point even though frank and Trent who I think is the best of the 3 will need pt as well. If allen does return it will be really tough to sell duval because he's not going anywhere to not start

The funny thing is if he had ended up sticking with his childhood favorite team and came here and then left after two years most would say he would have stayed all 4 years if he had went to Duke. Just goes to show you that the expectations of players coming in to Duke and UK really are the same and the days of NBA first rounders staying 4 years is all but over and K is selling the same thing Cal is.

There is no logjam: Duval and Allen will be the starting guards with Frank Jackson coming off the bench. All 3 will play 25-30 minutes at the 1-2 position.
Gary Trent Jr. and Jack White will split minutes at the 3 unless Duke gets Knox.
Carter will get all the minutes he can at the 4 with Javin DeLaurier backing him up in spurts. Knox could get some time here if he picks Duke.
Bolden will get heavy minutes at the 5 with Vrankovic backing him up unless we get Bamba in which case him and Bolden would split time at the 5 spot
When did he announce it? Link? It was weak journalism running with rumors while discussions were going on with the family and nothing had yet been announced.
It's college basketball man, how many good players do you need? Jackson will take a huge leap in Year 2 just like Allen and Kennard did most likely.
DeLaurier would back up Carter and Vrankovic will back up Bolden. It's likely that Bolden will improve a decent amount next year anyway.

That's a solid roster, Duke will be preseason top 5 in a down year of CBB most likely but in the worst case top 10. I expect the defense to be a lot improved with the loss of Kennard.
If you think that's a top 5 roster...then, man, I don't know what to tell you.

With him we got from no idea what will happen in NCAA to we will most likely be at least a final four.
Bolden sucks. Next year won't change that. Duvall might not ever play. Knox is a long shot for Duke.
Good luck. No point guard again and no Kennard to completely bail you out. Duke could battle for the NCAA's next year if you lose out on this class which is a high possibility.
You will still have a log jam plus bolden is unproven he had plenty of chances to showcase himself last yr and failed miserably. I think duke will go with a 3 guard line up, since I don't see Jackson and Trent sitting the bench and you know k is not going to take allen a 4 yr starter and make him sit the bench in favor of duval. I think Knox goes to the cheats or the dark horse Missouri. He's more of a 3 and possibly a 2. Sure he could play the 4 but that's not the best place for him. The cheats could play him at the 2,3 or 4 since I'm sure Jackson will be gone and his game resembles Jackson the most. Jackson also isn't taking a backseat, he's very good but I think Trent is better. If you were going to lose a player allen would of been the ideal one as it would give Duvall the keys. I think Duvall will end up at Kansas due to grades and attitude plus he can step right in and start right away.
I thought the same with Wiggins and that kid single handedly ruined recruiting for me. Until Bamba I didn't keep up the way I used to.
LOL, good luck with that. I think I'm going to evaluate how good they are when I see the team compete on the court. Until that time I don't care if they're pre-season top 10 or top 30. It means zilch.
