generally, I agree. My best friend's son transferred for more $ and a chance to live with his dad (my friend) for a year. My friend is moving back here this summer, so he'll likely transfer again. That is only one, so i generally agree with your statement.Generally speaking, unless you’re pulling a stunt like Nico, kids who enter in the spring are moving because they’ve fallen on the depth chart.

With the portal player development is a thing of the past. Player development will take place(if at all)I hate that we aren't developing our DL like we used to....but Kendrick was a non factor in his 2nd year and was fully recruited over in the portal going into his 3rd year.....this is the new norm. If you ain't making a depth chart move in first 2-3 years....you're not going to keep a spot.
Sounds like that one is a done deal for OU.Would like UK to have the money for the Cal running back that went in today. Read Oklahoma is prob location but this offense needs a playmaker.
Our offense is in need of every down tough RB with playmaking ability. We haven't had one since Rodriquez and this offense really needs one. We have a couple of situational RB's but no lead guy.Would like UK to have the money for the Cal running back that went in today. Read Oklahoma is prob location but this offense needs a playmaker.
When I saw, he was moved to NG I thought he would never be a major contributor here.Remember being pumped when we got his commitment.

Hard to know for sure, but most of the predictive 2025 depth charts had him running with the two and I saw one that had him 3rd.I guess he wasn't anticipating a lot of PT? Was he at least 2nd string? If so, he would've gotten a lot of snaps.
Lots of positive vibes coming out about Dowdle.I loved crod but he rarely broke a td run. He could just never make the safety miss. In fact he usually just tried to run over him.
He was a machine at pumping out runs 3-25 yards. Its pretty crazy he ended with a career 6 yard average and almost all of it was in that range. Crazy consistency.
Jmo our run game will be much improved. I think our OL will be better and we'll have a renewed commitment to inside zone. Plus i think the Nebraska transfer will make a difference.
The final piece of our improved run game will be qb run. We finally have some talented depth at qb so we no longer have to handle that position with kid gloves. That threat will hold backside de/lb and prevent them just crashing hard.
I love CRod. If you dive into the archives you'll see me arguing with people that he was a better back than Snell; however, the best every down back was more recent and his name was Ray Davis. For my money, he's the most talented back in Stoops tenure and if he had played at UK longer his legacy would be the best back to every play for Kentucky over all the names from the past. What he did against modern SEC defenses without the benefit of UK's peak offensive line talent...mama miaOur offense is in need of every down tough RB with playmaking ability. Donate Dowdell is not a situational running backOur offense is in need of every down tough RB with playmaking ability. We haven't had one since Rodriquez and this offense really needs one. We have a couple of situational RB's but no lead guy.
He is a short yardage specialist. He was used at Nebraska primarily in short yardage and goal line.Donate Dowdell is not a situational running back

Only 20+ carries in three games! Coen at least used him in the passing game against UofL which I think is the only reason we made the come back to win that one along with force/recovering UofL fumbles.Davis was maybe the best back that ever played at uk. Statistically his touches per td was insane. After Florida we stopped giving him the ball so we could feed barion.
What a waste.
Ray was very good for us and the best RB we've had in 20 years. He would be in my top 5 all time and only played one season for us. Sonny Collins was great at UK and I have never seen better. Sonny is definitely # 1Davis was maybe the best back that ever played at uk. Statistically his touches per td was insane. After Florida we stopped giving him the ball so we could feed barion.

The past two years our OL has, in a word, sucked. We didn't adjust very well re: playcalling, inside vs outside zone, personnel, etc. But, the past two years our OL had very little push up front. Last year, we didn't have the bruiser who could pick up an extra yard or two after contact (definitely needed most running plays last season). The last 2 years have been very frustrating to watch the OCs waste our running game
