Well, that damn "Glory Road" movie that Disney made did him NO favors. And depicted the entire UK fan base as a bunch of KKK racists. What should have been a very inspiring film about racial barriers being broken in the sport, became an assault piece on Kentucky as a whole. Even Don Haskins said the film took extreme liberty with the Kentucky crowd at the Championship game. A lot of people saw that movie, which was decent up until the end, and took it as gospel truth. Rupp has been fighting back the racist image since then.

Rupp was not a perfect man, and some of his views were.....dated. But he was not actively racist by any means.
