UK Lady Kats received a commitment from the #1 JC player. Evelyn Akhator, a 6-3 forward, picked the Lady Kats over the Vols and others. Effective inside on offense and strong on the boards.

With the #9 center in HS coming in (Camaro), the Kats should be much improved on the inside this season.

Good to see Coach Mitchell beating out the big time programs for a player. He now needs to take the next step on the court and get us to a Final Four.

Part of the problem is they are always in UConn's region. No other team but UConn will go to the final four in that region. Ever.
You have to get a #1 seed and then UConn can be avoided. Like the pickup, especially if she can come in and start

I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I wish chickball stuff was on another forum as I hate clicking on it by mistake. I also hate that it is even covered at all. It's like we were guilt tripped into having to cover it on mainstream TV.. Literally nobody I know likes chicksports in any form unless it's like some kind of cooking show or maybe they're prancing around in bathing suits like gymnastics and figure skating. Sorry, I know that's unpopular and unPC but I am confident I am speaking for 99% of all men in the world.

I have gone to women's basketball, volleyball, softball and gymnastics and they are just as competitive as the men's sports. But, I had a daughter that played tball, baseball , fast pitch softball and I helped coached her teams. The girls on her teams did not want to lose.

UK has had and has some awesome female athletes and great kids (just like the men). The thing I enjoy the most about following my favorite teams (program) is you never know when you will be seeing a kid come in and become one of the all time greats to play for their sport. Men's and Women's.

Watching and enjoying history being made for the school you love is the best enjoyment a sports fan can have. If your just a Cats fan for football and men's basketball then it's your loss cause your missing out.

And you waste time posting this? What a damn loser

I enjoy watching the ladies play in their particular sports. Hats off to them because when I was in high school in the late fifties /early sixties, the girls had no sports at all unless you would call cheer leading a sport.

I'm confident any guy who uses the word "chick" is 1) 13 years old 2) sterile 3) a bachelor for obvious reasons.
I was fortunate enough to have a daughter play college ball and watching women's basketball was as entertaining as the men. I take women's sports for what it is, knowing the physical limitations, it still has it's own unique entertainment factor. Please do all men a favor, don't speak for any of us again.

Kind of doubt if you can speak for anyone, especially the men of the world.

Wow.

Yeah, you'd avoid UConn... up until the finals.
As long as Auriemma is at UConn, I see them dominating women's basketball.
I bet you see him equal Wooden's 11 in the next few years.

Chrishae Rowe, a transfer from Oregon. She's a scoring machine and a great athlete. Mitchell may have a team that can make it over that Elite Eight hump finally. It will be a much bigger team, but still blazing fast.
Saw Rowes name listed and wondered who she was and how good. That's great to hear. With her and the other transfer it looks like we should be very good at all positions and a pretty good bench also.

Very good news for the Lady Cats, they are very competitive every year, maybe they will challenge Uconn, Notre Dame, this year

The best high school athlete I've covered in any sport is Erin Boley, and that includes Epps. Huge blow that she's heading to Notre Dame instead of staying home. Would have been a massive contributor for the Lady Cats.

The "Chicksports" comment is laughably bad, but there's a reason he's on user name 47.

Never did find out why Rowe was kicked off the team here at Oregon. Had to be something pretty serious for the coach to kick a player who averaged 22ppg the year earlier right before the start of the season. Did you ever hear? Agree that she is a scoring machine. Scored 41 points one game her freshman year for the Ducks.

What was the reason Epps left UK ? I enjoy watching the Lady Cats play.
