I'm always going against the grain. I thought she was annoying as heck. But I'm just being old school sexist . I want a guy calling the game . Let females call female games.

If it helps my wife thought it was a 14 year old boy calling the game until I pointed out it was a woman. Maybe you could work with that.
She's really good, I mentioned it several times last night.
Frankly I think she would be even better if they paired her with somebody better. Last night she had to pick up a lot of slack imo.

Generally don't like female announcers but gotta give her props. She seems to know her stuff and I would take her any day over Vitale, Knight, Joe Dean Jr., etc. who make my ears bleed with their stupidity. At worst, she is not annoying.

If female announcers have the job mostly because they're female then it's usually a downer. Kara Lawson played women's ball at a high level under an excellent head coach and has learned the broadcasting craft very well. I never have a negative vibe when I discover she'll be doing color. She does an excellent job. I do have a more difficult time with females doing football games
True story - Kara Lawson went to the same high school as me. I never knew her because she's about ten years older than I am and I was a band kid so I never would have known her anyway, but still true.
Anyway, she's really good at her job and has easily earned a better role than "broadcast team's token female member." I'm never unhappy about her covering games.

I could watch a game with her and Doris Burke all day. Both know the game and are knowledgeable. Unlike some men(Doug Gottdweeb, Bill Walton etc).....
I like her as well, but have to say the few times we've been on ESPN U and we were given B-Team announcers that I thought were very good. Wish I could remember the names of the two.
walton knows the game but he has those darned flashbacks now and then. the sixties were tough.
I don't usually like female announcers. I do like Kara. She is knowledgable and succinct without getting into emotional hyperbole to make a name for herself. I respect that.
