Kansas, UNC-W losses don't matter?

trajectory maybe, but lets not act like all teams stay static while Cal's team improve each game.

The Kansas team we faced in November will be a better team (barring injury) in March

of course we have to get past Kansas St before we face Kansas

I guess more so the "potential" of Cal's teams. They don't always pan out, and it's never just automatic that our team will progress.

But I think the vast majority of college basketball teams are at a 7 or 8 or even a 9.. in terms of reaching their potential. Could a team like Purdue get better? Sure. But I think guys like Edey are about as good as they are going to get at the college level. I don't think Purdue has much of a "next level", IMO.

But this team, and other Kentucky teams.. maybe a 5 right now? Not a single one of our players is done developing, and all could be a good deal better than what they already are. Not to mention Cal, as he figures out how to play everyone. Kentucky teams always have a TON more potential than anyone else (not named Duke, because of their freshman) at this time of year. Now, we don't if they will hit that potential..

I think Kansas is a good example of a Purdue type of team that I'm not sure will get a whole lot better. Harris is who he is. A weak offensive but strong defensive guard (despite lighting us up). McCullar, pretty much who he is. Their freshman likely aren't going to get a lot of burn with Self. Hunter, is who he is, although Im sure Self is still figuring out how to use him.

This UK team has had all of its key players available for one game so far this season. I will wait to see a larger sample of them all playing together before I decide how good or bad they will be.

Thanks for the heads up. Might as well quit watching now since the champion is already narrowed to 1/5 schools.

The week before Xmas
Twas the week before x-mas and all thru cat land
the fans were restless they'd had all they could stand

Cal had the players just like in years past
but 3 had hangnails and 2 were in casts

Two had not played and another only two games
the fans were all braced for more of the same

the NCAA were still dragging their feet
but Hawks and the Heels were still free to cheat

over on the bench there were players in chairs
but somehow poor Cal forgot they were there

we had such a team that number 9 was in sight
but Cal was struggling to get the sub pattern right

the fans were all doomed to again shed a tear
but oh what a class we've signed for next year

Added one for you. Bolded it. Sorry the formatting keeps getting jacked.

Here’s where I have those teams currently:

Purdue 12
Arizona 1
BYU 7
Houston 3
Baylor 25

There are no guarantees either in that precedent or in the NET itself.

All the same, correctly sorting 25 teams from 1,810 is either valid predictive power or incredible dumb luck. Doesn’t make me feel great about being 38th no matter what you want to claim about bouncing balls.
