Kansas lands 4 star center then claims he's a 5 star

I think your point still stands, but technically it's 2 titles (don't give them an out). And UCONN has won more titles in that time frame than Kentucky, Kansas, UNC and anyone else save for Duke...so not sure I'd use them as an example against just KU being a blue blood.
Kentucky won 3 titles in that time frame. The same as UCONN. Are you sure you're a UK fan?

Pretty sure every school just goes by the highest ranking service. Matt Elam was a 5 star on 247 and a 3 star on every other site. Every fan on here was claiming he was a 5 star.

Actually rivals was the only one that had Elam as a 3 star. ESPN and Scout had him as a 4 star and 247 had him as a 5 star. Then again football rankings and basketball rankings are two different things. Basketball rankings seem to be a lot more accurate compared to football rankings. Football rankings are usually all over the place. One guy will be ranked 20th by one site and 300th by another.

4-Star PF Silvio De Sousa Commits to Kansas over Kentucky, Florida, UNC, More

Was we serious on this recruit or is it a name game to give the crow fans something to crow about?

Ha, not trying to get in a debate about known facts. Perfectly aware of the three titles. Watched them all. UCONN has won four titles in the past 19 years (unless I'm remembering wrong?). That's all I was getting at. They can trump anyone in that argument except for Duke really.

Never understood why some of you young'ins get so worked up if another school happens to land a decent player. Last time I checked Coach was doing just fine in that department, but still only has 13 scholarships to give out, so other programs will certainly get their share. Guaranty Cal is sleeping fine tonight.

Are you, @hawkin & @RC_Texas excited about going back to having 1 more title than our little brother, Whoreville?

I mean, claiming to be a blueblood while TIED with Whoreville in number of championships has GOT to be embarrassing.

@TheBlueDisciple is a Kansas apologist.
Well yah, if you read the article this happened over a year ago and he was disciplined internally already, though no charges brought. So from KU's perspective this is closed. Sounds like the local media is just now digging around seeing what mud they can dig up for a headline.

Ok, you guys want your weirdest storyline of the day. The woman referenced by this story as the girl Vick hits...it's the SAME girl that caused the issue with Brag getting suspended last month (where she lied to police about him pushing her down steps). Same one.

But that's not the crazy part. The really weird random twist is she's the sister of Nadir Soofi...you know, the terrorist who tried to attack a convention in Garland, TX in 2015 but was shot down outside before he could enter and kill anyone.

If I was Self, I would bar this chick from ever stepping foot on campus again. She's working on single-handedly bringing down their whole program. Also a good lesson to these athletes first coming to college...sometimes it just aint worth it. At all.

At the risk of being called a KU defender again, let's at least hit them with facts, as there are plenty of those to bag on them with.

Their players did not witness rape (and subsequently failed to stop it). They were listed as witnesses, which is vastly different than an eyewitness. The latter would be someone who witnessed/heard the rape.

Meh. I dont remember to many fans on RR claiming Elam a five star. Nice try

Obtw
There were some on WL, but there were also MANY knowledgeable UK fans refuting that.

Were we actually recruiting this guy? I mean, I'm sure we will land at least two, and probably three, bigs who are better than him in the 2018 class.

Had we had contact? I'm sure. But he didn't have an offer and wasn't close to getting one. Good player though, and KU is a good fit.

Just an FYI,
Sousa played for Angola this summer in the FIBA U-19 against the two best teams USA and Canada averaged 19-pts./ 7-rebs.

He averaged 17.3-pts. and 13.1-rebs. in 7-games for Angola during FIBA U-19 (W-3/L-4).

Kansas is not a blue blood. If they are its borderline light blue blood.

Kid looks like a good athletic big. Not gonna knock him. This is the kinda kid self does well with over a couple of seasons. Of course people forget this point of the season a few seasons back no one had heard of embiid either. Not claiming its the same but the kid looks like he has alot of upside. If we got all of our targets this is the kinda kid I wouldn't mind landing for icing on the recruiting class cake.

If the feds do end up shutting Whoreville down some day for their rampant lawlessness, we don't even need to hold auditions: We KNOW who is going to be the "NEW" Liddle Brudder.

Ankle biting Kentucky just comes naturally to Kansas. It's where they belong.

Since they directly cheated their way to 2 of those titles utilizing the dookie flop against our Cats, I reckon we can still use this example.

To be fair, this thread was started so that several here could actively discount the fact that KU landed a four star and not a five star. It was important to them that that distinction be made. If anything some outside observers would view the insecurity is on this side. Not you specifically, but definitely a few in this thread who I am guessing are simply just young fans and don't realize that the more you try to tear another team down the worse it makes you look. Especially when you're in the driver seat.

It reminds me of a few seasons back when some no-name guard for the Celtics tried to get into it with LeBron, and LeBron's response was simply who? He had no idea who the guy was, it was hilarious.

To be fair, you got your Jimmie's rustled. (h/t to the posters on the main board). Burns you up to see your beloved Jayhawks disparaged. It's just weird that you would go to such lengths to disguise yourself as a Kentucky fan when your true allegiance is to Kansas. Very strange behavior.

Seriously... it's not like anyone here would give a schittt... let your 2nd round embarrassment freak flag fly!

No... Pretty sure UK has more than one title in the last 30 years.

Well yah...3 for those too young to count or have watched them. UCONN has 4 if you can believe it. Doesn't seem like it, but they do. Now how many should actually count considering well...Calhoun, who knows.
