In addition to recently offering two of Zion's unranked AAU pals scholarships, Bill Self has amplified the pressure by offering Zion's family pet, Scruffy, a full scholarship. Self is also reported to have offered Zion the neighborhood ice cream man a full scholarship.

"I love Scruffy," said Williamson. "If he and I can play together on the next level, that would be amazing. We aren't a package deal, but we've talked a lot about the idea of playing together. He and I would be great in the open court together."

Williamson also addressed the potential of teaming up with the local ice cream truck man. "Whenever I hear 'Here we go round the mulberry bush' on that ice cream truck as it turns the corner, I get amped, man. I know it's almost time for the some creamy deliciousness. If Kansas offers Felipe or - is it Carlos or Chuck - whatever his name is, that would be huge. Once I bought an orange creamsicle from him and we talked about playing together someday. That boy is cold."

Coach Self couldn't be reached for comment due to a prior "strategic meeting" with Adidas, his secretary said.

Man, I didn't think Scruffy would ever be eligible to play college hoops.

Kansas insiders seem confident that he'll only have to miss a few games once he pays back the small amount of cash he took for impermissible benefits. One Kansas fan said it was related to something involving a night of "humping the leg" at the strip club "Doggy Stylz" outside Charleston.

Frankly, it is amazing that Kansas missed on any top recruit. I mean, you can go there for four years and win four championships. Who wouldn't want that?

HAHA you weren't kidding about them offering an unranked teammate. Dontarius James, who holds offers from powerhouses like Austin Peay, Campbell, Presbyterian, South Alabama, South Carolina State, and Wofford to name a few.

Kansas should just stick to transfers and 5 star kids with baggage.

Meanwhile, UL coaches have other plans to hopefully lure Scruffy and subsequently Zion to their campus.....

Scruffy would have a free pass to chew up every mailman in Lawrence.

I realize that the OP is being facetious and it was well done but the gist of his "story" is true. Next Cats (LHL) tweeted this morning a click bait link that said "Bad news for UK?: Notable Crystal Ball change for top recruit Zion Williamson." I bit, turns out a SINGLE writer changed his crystal ball prediction to Kansas after Williamson played with Devon Dotson (a purported KU lean) and offered his AAU buddy, the mighty Dontarius James fresh off of S. Alabama, S. Carolina St and Wofford offers. Ill save you the click and trust Quickley's statement that he "thinks it works out in the end."

247Sports recruiting insider Andrew Slater changed his prediction for top basketball prospect Zion Williamson from Kentucky to Kansas on Tuesday.

Williamson — a 6-foot-6 small forward from Spartanburg, S.C. — is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 1 overall prospect in the 2018 class, and he’s one of UK’s top recruiting targets for next year.

His 247Sports Crystal Ball page tilted in favor of UK earlier this year, and talk last month that Williamson and five-star point guard Immanuel Quickley — considered a major UK lean — wanted to play college ball together strengthened those opinions.

Williamson has since teamed up with another highly touted 2018 guard on the AAU circuit — Devon Dotson, considered a Kansas lean — and the Jayhawks on Monday night extended a scholarship offer to Williamson’s close friend and AAU teammate Dontarius James‏.

Before the Kansas offer, James’ top offers included UMass and College of Charleston.

Slater is one of the more accurate predictors out of the guru's.

I guess that's who Williamson will practice against every day if he chooses KU. My goodness Self is pathetically desperate.

I guess we'll have to see but until he proves otherwise I predict it's U.K.

That's still a solid prediction, just not mine. He's a fan of playing with Dotson (who is a lock for KU), he's an Adidas guy, and we have an open spot for a SF next year. I think KU gets Williamson, Duke gets Barrett and Kentucky gets Reddish and King.

I thought one of the Lawson brothers was a 3 and the other was a 4?

And last week you said you guys were getting Barrett. What happened?

They are getting his sweetheart a full ride and a three year overseas paid internship to allow big man to enjoy the college experience.

All the credit, none to few of the repercussions.

"What's that Zion? Why three years? Don't worry about that at all, son!" "Just enjoy the college experience and you can decide if you want to get serious with your girl by then." "Come on, you're young!"

"Yeah coach, I really plan to enjoy school and all of that for sure" "Nothing is set is stone but I don't see myself enjoying straight three years right now, maybe after I get my career going or even when I'm done".
"It is like Coach Cal and me were talking about this morning, guys go back online once they get established or at Kentucky I'm always going to be welcome to finish my education plus, hopefully I got generational bread stacked".

Not as pathetically desperate as the USC coach offering Bagley's whole family, but close.

Cal should offer Dontarius James a spot at UK as a ball boy/student manager just to F with Self.

Kansas is a desperate program, TBH...

They have Acute Championship Envy...

Hence the over-emphasis on winning their mediocre, perennially overrated, underperforming conference.

Has the KU fan not learned that Cal gets 95% of the players he absolutely wants. Hes going all out this class and he will get at least 3 or 4 of the top ten. Bank on it.
