just be glad they took the point away

They didn't take the point away. It wasn't earned, therefore it should never have been on the score board.

Also, it shouldn't have taken that long to make the adjustment. One could clearly see his right foot on the line and his left foot appeared to have been on the line as well.

Exactly. This crew is just awful.

Dave Neal cried for several minutes about "the point", but the guy clearly had both toes on the line.

By rule you have to wait until the next media timeout to review any 2 vs. 3 score that happens with more than 4 minutes to go in the game. Any situations under the 4 minute mark can be looked at immediately. One of the dumbest rules in the book.

Should have been made long before it did but it was the right call... Refs made some questionable foul calls at the end of the game to give Ole Miss more trips to the line and keep them toe to toe with us... I haven't heard Rupp so upset with the refs in a long time throughout the course of the game.

Yes. That was very curious how they let it go that long, without addressing it sooner.

Just be glad that Moody got the cramps and missed about15minutes.Just be glad we got to pick their worst FT shooter on the foul on Moody on the 3 point shot. I am just glad we survived, I really thought the missed free throwsin OT was going to bite us in the butt.

It was actually much closer to a 3 than I thought watching it live. I thought he was a least a foot inside the 3 point line when it happened, so I was surprised when the replay showed he was a shoestring width from it being a 3.

The guy had both of his feet on the line, the right one was completely across it. And somehow they managed to bungle the call. I'm not really sure why they had to look a three times on the monitors to see it. These guys were really just bad at what they do. I don't really understand it. In the real world, when you consistently suck a what you do, odds are you aren't going to have that job for long.

No kidding.... What about the double foul? Anyone would know that if both whistles blow at the same time, that the foul that occurred first would be the call.... The head official should make that decision, if there is a dispute.... The phantom calls and the anticipated whistle, that ended with a phantom foul was terrible... These refs were terrible....

Not to say Ole Miss didn't deserve to be in the game, but calls like this are pitiful... It seemed like at least one ref in the crew wanted to make a name for himself.... He succeeded..... Anyway, congrats to Ole Miss.....

They took what was not rightly theirs to begin with. Nothing else needs to be said.

the bigger HUGE miss, was the called goaltend on us and the non call on them... Get those calls correct and we win in regulation by at least 4

We pulled a win out of our butt, however, that is how champions win, they win the tight ones, they make the right decisions in hard situations, they WIN

Part of the reason for the cramps is that Moody was playing his heart out and we weren't making it easy for him. They had to fight the whole night to keep in the game and even managed to lead a few times. Cramps, fatigue, etc are part of the game.

Having said that, if that is the way Moody shoots all the time, I wish we had him on our team!

I get the sentiment of the thread.

I don't think taking away the point would have mattered much to be honest - yes the game ended in a tie but the players would have responded appropriately during the game had Ole Miss had 1 point lead .

Who knows - instead of a tie, we made have turned it up a notch on defense to win the game.

My only takeaway from the game is once we got a 12-0 lead our players decided the game wasn't going to be a challenge anymore.

This..Im not a ref and it took me 2s to see it was clearly a 2pter...I too think he had both toes on the line....

It is ridiculous how long these guys have to stare at monitors.

The shot last night was basically the same thing that happens when there's a flagrant foul question. They'll go over and look at the thing for five solid minutes.

Basketball, unlike football, is a game that suffers when you have those kinds of stoppages. Football can be made more exciting when replays are used. It tends to really destroy the rhythm of a basketball game.

The sport needs replay officials who can make the call within 30 seconds.

You must not watch the replay!
Jersey was stating that them making it a 2 was not the wrong call. He was responding to the OP acting like we were given some gift, when the refs screwed up an obvious call in the first place.

refs don't catch everything

^ Just watched the highlight video and caught that too. Would have been huge as there was still around 3 seconds left.
