Normally you don't start talking about JUCO's until several months before they're ready to enroll somewhere. But here's a note on Emmitt Gooden, a Class of 2016 high school recruit who signed with Mississippi State, and is now a 2018 defensive tackle recruit (6-foot-4, 305 pounds) at Independence C.C. in Kansas. He had still been committed to Mississippi State until just a few minutes ago, when he reopened his recruitment following the defensive coordinator flip between Louisville and Mississippi State. Have to believe Louisville will be a major player but Gooden also just told me that Kentucky reached out and talked to him earlier today. Kentucky was a school of interest when Gooden was in last year's H.S. class.
Jimmy Brumbaugh is the coach who spoke with Gooden. The JUCO prospect told me he will be finished and ready to transfer after December of 2017.
