Bouknight sees the handwriting on the wall
Coen has his own guy in there now Woodward
Bouknight/Woodward essentially swapped jobs. Bouknight went from on the field WR coach to a QC-type thing. Woodward left the QC-type thing and became the on the field WR coach. Looks like Woodward will fit nicely, Bouknight will be the Herds WR coach.

He was incredibly lucky to keep his paycheck last year. Was pretty clear there was a business decision made where they thought it cheaper to just pay out his 1 year deal rather than fire him and face potential litigation.

He was pretty much a 0. After going on a major run of great hires, stoops and co whiffed a bit of late. Hinshaw was awful, Smith had issues (but otherwise serviceable), boughknight was worthless, buffano not good, Wolford was scum, settle can't recruit and saw our star RB fumble more in a game then his entire career, and the book is still out on Collins.

Of course had some home runs too, but hopefully we get back to identifying those high potential under the radar candidates like before

Settle only recruits RBs.

Don't think he really does much of that. At least not effectively. Never saw his name tied to anyone and remember rockcat recently saying he just isn't a recruiter.

I remember last spring after he was hired, there was a video of the running backs breaking it down to "get the bag" or "bag getters" and settle had zero clue what that meant. They laughed and tried explaining it to him. I really appreciate his old school approach, but in today's environment that just isn't connecting with teens.

Yes. He had no idea what they were talking about. It was a video UK football posted last spring practice.

At the time it was kind of funny in an out of touch grandpa kind of way. But nothing funny about someone who is a zero in recruiting while also seeing the star RB suddenly not hold onto the ball for a long stretch of the season

Haha. For a minute I thought you were talking about some football term and I felt bad because I didn’t know what you were talking about at first. Haha
