Josh Langford.......to

Yep, enjoy knowledgable banter.
Here and the Kansas board are the epicenter( IMO) of such fans.
UK is a front runner every year under Cal.
MSU, beginning this upcoming season will be decidedly in the mix of true threats to win it all for the next 2-3 years.
IF Eron Harris ends up playing both this year and next, his senior year MSU will be out and out stacked
Harris
Langford
Nick Ward
Deyonta Davis
Tum
Matt Mc Quaid( kid is going to be an elite Shooter)
Marvin Clark
Schilling
Maybe Bridges and or Winson
That potential team will be better than this years team( which has way more upside than last years team)
I like Tom Izzo and think he's a great coach, but I don't see MSU winning a title anytime soon.

The Payne, Harris, Appling team from two years ago was a healthy right wrist of Appling from winning it all. That frankly killed them. Izzo made a huge mistake down the stretch allowing him to continue playing as a senior( loyalty) instead of playing Trice. Bad decision.
Izzo is likely to have as much or more talent assembled the next several years. You can never foretell injuries, but I give Izzo an outstanding shot, he is a very good tournament coach, and very dangerous if he has excellent talent. And he will.

Bridges won't play the 4 here. I'd bet on it.
Of course it didn't. Winslow played both the 3 and 4 in college for only 1 year and was a top player coming into the season. A one-and-done. I don't see Bridges as being a one-and-done player. If he goes to MSU and plays the 4, his stock will fall each season he is there.

Bridges is big and strong enough to guard a college 4. If he comes to UK, he will guard the 3 and 4 spots.

Offensively, it doesn't really matter as Cal doesn't emphasize positions. He can play Bridges at the 3 or 4 spot and still have him on the perimeter. It might be beneficial for him to play the 4 spot and force bigger, slower players to come out and guard him.

As for the NBA, the champs this year played a 6'7 Draymond Green at the 5 spot a lot this year, especially in the title series. They played a point and four perimeter guys.

Traditional positions are becoming a thing of the past, IMHO. They only really matter on defense.

At the very least, I think we should view players as Points, Wings, and Posts (or Bigs) more than PG, SG, SF, PF, and C.

Ulis is a pure Point.

Briscoe can play Point or Wing.

Mulder and Matthews are Wings.

Poythress can play Wing or Post.

Labissiere can play Wing or Post.

Lee is a Post.

I'll stick with my opinion. If Bridges comes to UK he'll play the 3 and if he goes to MSU he'll be forced to play the 4. At UK, he'll end up a top pick in a few years and at MSU he'll end up being nothing more than another Brandan Dawson.

I doubt he would play the 4 at MSU with Deyonta Davis( 6'9 burger boy as a true 4 man) and Nick Ward as a 4/5 guy and true post player as Soph/ freshman respectively. And Schilling as a senior 5 man as well.
The only reason Dawson played the 4 was because he had zero perimeter skills, and was a freak rebounder and garbage man. If Dawson has any NBA future, it was never going to be on the perimeter as a 3. Can't believe you seriously think that.
As it was, With Nix and Payne, then at times Payne and Costello, he indeed did play the 3( and was out of position for his skill set doing so).
Drsymond( at the same size) played more on the perimeter in college than as a pro, so to imply Izzo) can't develope talent( which are almost never top 15 kids) is wrong.

Agree to disagree.

I think he spends time at the 3 and 4 for either team.

If he goes to MSU, I see Langford playing mostly at the 3 with Bridges backing him up. Bridges starts at the 4 with Davis, Ward, and Shilling rotating at the 4 and 5 spots.

Like I said before, Langford in the Valentine role and Bridges in the Dawson role.
