If the DC can't figure out how to get pressure on the QB, this year will be no different than last year against Ms. State and UT, and I believe Ole Miss is back on the schedule also.

It won't matter who the DB's are if QB has all day to wait for receivers to get open. Brad White has got to figure out how to bring pressure, and CMS has got to allow him to do it.

Playing defense to prevent the big play will get you beat every time against those teams as they will 5 yard your defense into submission.

Yes. Set a school record. Maybe even SEC record. Wide open 5-8 yard passes all game long. No pressure on QB, no man coverage/ bump and run on WR. Running backs uncovered out of the backfield all game.

Ugh!! Most unprepared defense I've ever witnessed. CMS thought he had the silver bullet against the spread based on success in 2020 against Ms. St. The old Pirate out witted him and out coached him.

I will say that losing OO and Jordan Wright had a huge negative impact on Ms. St. and UT games for the defense.
