JoJo replaces Boom as #1 on depth chart...

Think Stoops is trying to send a message to Boom. Great talent, but still young and a little immature. He'll be fine.

Also probably has to do with the fact that Jojo is running with his hair on fire.

I didn't realize he ran off the field immediately after the game. To me, that shows a lot of immaturity and to another extent of being a baby. Sorry Boom, JoJo was running the ball great the other night. Boom will get a lot more opportunities in the future so he needs to keep on working hard.

That just really shows a me first attitude after his team just beat a ranked opponent for the first time since 2010. Have a feeling dad might have a talk with him too. Jojo was moving the chains, that's what RB's are supposed to do when the game is on the line. Me thinks Boom will be just fine, may just need a little attitude adjustment.

That's the good thing about having three outstanding backs, they are all very good and bring something different to the table.

Hearing a lot of chatter regarding this subject. I don't think he or his dad are happy with Stoops and the way he is using Boom. This has the potential to get ugly. I remember Brown having issues dealing with Boom last year as well.

Boom did a great job closing out the USC game, Jojo had the hot hand against Mizzou. I don't think it helps anything to speculate about attitudes. I expect the coaches will get all the players ready to go.

Yeah, that's why Boom's dad comes to all the games decked out in blue and trying to pump the crowd up. A disgruntled parent doesn't do that. I don't know how Boom could be disgruntled about how he's been handled. He wasn't able to break through against Mizzou and JoJo was...simple as that. We actually have other talented guys on the team.

Maybe Dad and Boom should discuss him hitting the hole instead of tip toeing and trying to bust a homerun every play. Maybe they can discuss blitz pick up as well. Boom is talented no question but he isn't an every down back in my opinion. I like his Dad's enthusiasm on gameday but if he is really moaning about how his son is being used offensively then he needs to can it. We don't need drama from a parent and his son who think they are entitled to something. We are talented enough to win without him. Get on the train and be a team player or transfer.

I think there's too much speculation. Boom had to hit the restroom. Jojo kicked ass and got recognize. It's a long season with lots of opportunities. Chill.

This will basically be a ceremonious start. Boom will still get plenty of touches. But Jojo just run so well, so hard, and so determined to finish out that game; he needed to be rewarded.

I think JJ runs the balls where it's called to be run moreso than Boom who free lances some imo. Also may block better.

Hes definitely a better blocker. Boom let a blocker run right by him and get a sack. Was a pretty ugly play iirc. And I think thats about the time Boom headed to the sideline.

If it's true that he left the field early after a huge win then he needs to me made an example out of. He should not play next week IMO.

If you're not a team player then we have no need for you. Stuff like this, if true can crush a team.

I really hope it was just a misunderstanding.

Not playing Boom seems harsh even if Boom's feelings got hurt. Having JoJo start should be all that is needed to get Boom's head straight. If not I'm sure Coach Stoops will handle it in the correct manner.

Booms best run in one series was Jojo lead blocking and stoned the de. Jojo has earned the carries. Boom just has to play harder and smarter and he'll be fine. Competition is awesome for a team.

It is impossible to deny that Jo Jo entered the game and took over. Boom would do well to sit and watch that game film and take some notes. He (Boom) is our best athlete at the position with the most upside, but he needs to recommit himself to studying his craft, and perhaps to appreciating the less glamorous aspects of it.

I give the coaches credit for more than simply playing games. When they say the hot hand plays, they mean the best play, and Saturday, Jo Jo Kemp was clearly our best RB. Kid plays the game like his life literally depends on moving the chains. Unless someone else adopts some of what he is putting down, he won't just start one game.

You have no idea what happened, yet you are speculating punishment and speaking of team wrecks? :flush:

This is not near as much about what he did or did wrong in the game as his attitude. Stoops is hell bent on correcting these types of things as witness to the suspensions earlier this year to Hatcher and CJ. Did you catch CJ's interview Saturday after the game. Basically said he's been selfish before and had to earn his respect back from the coaches and players. Great response. Think you'll see the same from Boom. Stoops knows he has some talent now and he's not going to let this thing get loose with from the inside no matter who's involved. They are all going to buy into it or else.

I think this covers the situation pretty well.

Good job on the reading comprehension BTW.

Seems to me he did fine with it, sorry, unless there is a lot more to it than the speculation on this board making him sit a game is way too much over reaction, and indeed might create a problem when there isn't one.

I see this the same way as many. Kemp deserves it, he's played very well, but I don't think it's a big setback to Boom. He's too good. He's still going to get plenty of chances to take that #1 position back. Having two very good RB's, really 3, competing for PT is a good problem to have.

Boom's ego gets a little bruised when he is not "the man" at all times.

I kinda like the fact that Boom wants to carry so much on his shoulders, but he just needs a little more maturity and be willing to give up the limelight at times.

Boom is a special talent. He just needs to become a total team player. I think he will. These are young guys.

Can't whiff on pass protection either.... He will be fine.

If Williams would learn how to pick up the blitz, he would get more playing time. Kemp will get most of the reps as long as Swindel is out IMO. I mean the coaches have to do what they must do to keep the quarterback vertical.
