I’m not sure why it’s more “realistic” to assume UK doesn’t land Barrett or Williamson.

I’m curious at the sudden inferiority complex the board is experiencing regarding transcendent recruits. UK misses on Bagley and Reddish and suddenly we’re Duke and Kansas/Adidas’ plan B?


Some of you are simply terrified to allow yourself to be disappointed. Now you’re playing it safe in your recruiting projections in order to protect your emotions.

There could be a whole lot of truth to your last statement. No question that some of these misses like Bagley and Bamba have made some of the base a little gunshy with every rumor flowing down the pike.

I'm a Kansas fan, and ANYONE ON THIS BOARD OR ANY OTHER, that thinks Coach Calipari won't pull in top talent is too stupid to be trusted with a keyboard or has been in a coma for the last decade.

Coach Cal WILL get his recruits. Always has. Always will.

Not a fan of the Coach or the school, but mad respect for what he has accomplished: And with what seem like really good young men.

UK will have a solid, young team this year. Could hang #9 but I don't think they will.

AZ and DUKE are loaded and if my Hawks stay healthy, they could be final four caliber.

But Kentucky seems to ALWAYS be in the mix come deep tournament time.

I think people are wondering just what type of BS and nonsense Duke has been putting out there to get these recruits.

I mean, look where they were just 5 years ago. They were an "uncool" school that Jalen Rose said was for Uncle Toms (he's far from the only one) and now they're hip and anyone can play for them? No, that doesn't just change overnight. Something is up.

When you put a prestigious "set for life" school, Coach K, and cheating together.. I can see why fans are concerned.

But with Cal playing three guards the last few years, who knows?

Baker, who I didn't mention before, might be the wildcard. Who knows how much he plays as a Frehman. There's not much room for him. Whether he plays as a Soph is an even bigger question.

Cal might go with a Green, Quickley, Grimes, Gilgeous-Alexander, and Johnson rotation at the 1-3 spots.

Cal played five guards this past season, so that is not out of the question.

But most likely someone goes early or transfers, if we sign three guards.[/QUO
