I can't send a link because I'm on my phone, but the Bleacher Report is now reporting that Johnny David is turning pro after his sophomore season.
Edit: I still can't get the link to work because I don't know how technology works or that there is a link button, so I'm just pasting the article here:
"Johnny David has declared for the 2017 NBA draft after just two seasons with John Calipari and Kentucky. David, who averaged .1 ppg in 14 minutes of play this year, will join a loaded draft class and makes the 9th player from Kentucky (so far) to declare for the draft this year. David, when asked about his decision, had this to say:
‘I talked to coach, and just told him that I was thinking of leaving. He talked about position-less basketball and one thing he said that really stood out to me was the fact that I’m probably the most position-less player on the team right now. Most of the guys I’ve been practicing against the last two years are better than two-thirds of the players in the NBA right now anyway, so I definitely feel like I’m ready'.
David is not currently projected on any mock draft boards, but that could change in light of this announcement. Chad Ford, ESPN anointed draft expert, discussed David’s NBA draft position:
‘David enters the draft as a bit of an unknown, but is definitely an intriguing prospect. He spent a full two years at Kentucky, and if John Calipari can make Daniel Orton (2ppg and 2rbg) into a first round pick, I think David has a bright future. The most tantalizing aspect of his game is his upside as that's the only direction for David to go at this point'."
