John Feinstein RIP

Leave Me Alone Middle Finger GIF by Island Touch Dance

I wouldn't do this but for a few people like Saddam Hussein, Osama Bin Laden and John Feinstein.

  • "Perhaps never in the history of the NCAA basketball tournament have two teams that were so radically different met in the final. Kentucky was the ultimate basketball factory. There was no business bigger or more important in the state of Kentucky than Kentucky basketball. People there honestly thought their program incomparable, even though Adolph Rupp had won the last of his four national titles in 1958 and UCLA had won ten of them in the ensuing twenty years." - by John Feinstein, Forever's Team, Villard Books, 1990, pg. 154.
"Joe B. Hall, Rupp's successor, was a bland, humorless man who could keep the Kentucky fans happy only by winning the national championship." - by John Feinstein, Forever's Team, Villard Books

After the Duke-UK game in the East Regionals in Philadelphia, Feinstein was one of the few reporters to take Christian Laettner's side of the story (Bill Walton was another) and suggested that it was called for to stomp on UK player Aminu Timberlake.

From link above.

If you don't like my reaction to this, you probably shouldn't read my stuff if I outlive Digger Phelps.

I've never wished a sports writer dead. Give it a rest.
Give it a rest? You are the one who made an issue of it and think I wasn't going to respond? Brought the issue back up over 24 hours later to make a mountain out of a mole hill over a gif. I admitted it was in poor taste with the image to make humor after the fact. Something I'll never do here again. You of all people to make a bigger deal out of it is hypocritical with some of the f'd up garbage you post. At least be consistent and go after everyone else here that poked fun. Never wished for him to die, just making shit up there. I haven't thought of this guy for 15-20 years. Such a ridiculous conversation.
