Joe Tipton w/ Yates update

JQ isn't going to get drafted lottery/first round if he just sits out like Sharpe. He isn't quite at that type of level, especially coming off injury.
Exactly, I think he will be motivated to play his best and prove he’s healthy on a big stage.

I dont buy Yates to Washington one bit.
I have a feeling of that too.
Yeah..he’s a top 5 pick if he plays next season and shows he’s healthy. If he sits out for a full year of rehab and only does combine stuff, he probably falls to 15-25. That’s a big $$$ difference when all he has to do is average 15 and 8 and he’s a lotto pick
He also needs to play with toughness. For as strong as he is he plays a little soft.
I love what Pope did with Amari and Jayden should do well with that role. In his film he always looked best when he was driving to the hoop from the top of the key. His handles are really smooth ..maybe more so than Amaris

Give Yates and Pierre a number and tell them the first to accept gets it.

Let's get this closed down!
Don't forget if other teams want these guys, they have $$$ also. It is still recruiting 101. Relationship, culture, Off & Def system, ability to win.

I'm a little annoyed by this recruitment. UK has a squad and Yates can be that final piece.

You can't tell me the money isn't there or close enough.... does he want to win?

Why would you transfer from USC to Washington if you're a NBA prospect type player? You're on the same west coast with a bad team and nobody watching you play.
Brooks went from UK to UW he is on the Pelicans roster. You never know what is going on in these guys heads!!

I’ll take Yates or Pierre, either one will do. Both have the size and athleticism and shooting we need.

I’m leaning toward Yates as my personal preference just because he played in the Big 10 and I am a bit of a P5 conference snob. I like guys that have proven they can play at the highest level. Plus Yates has three years left compared to two years for Pierre.

But I would be happy with either one.
Same on those guys, but personally I like Perre better. Shot mechanics are much better and his athleticism is next level.
Either would be phenomenal though.

Can't help but feel Yates is the missing link to next year's team.

So many times we've been just one player short.
Out of the 2000 portal players, I would say there are more than 1 that could make the difference. I like Yates a ton, he has the tools and is young. Lets get one more guy that can get his and we should be fine. You get too many in the portal and you might find guys on the team that want to leave. The Pierre guy is the same way, we miss on both there are several others being mentioned. We will always want our guys but if the coaches move on there is a reason.

Griffin is only a good pickup if you already have someone like Yates/Pierre or a Reeves/Monk who is a legit #1 option.

You absolutely can’t take him with the expectation of him being your go to guy/outside shooter.
I think Griffen and Storr were both stifled by Kansas’s offense. They just don’t fit what Self does well. He does better with ISO scorers and big men.

Is Wilkerson considered IU favorite? Are we in on him at all. I just see those splits and think we should be offering or trying to offer?
I read that he was going to start taking visits after the final four. He is one of Auburns top recruits. Duke is said to be one of the favorites. Also Alabama, Kansas, UK and a few others have been mentioned with him. He shot about 45% from the three, so he may be the best shooter to get. And at 6-5 205 he could play the 2 or 3 I would imagine.
