Jeff Drummond Tweeted Running Into Kennard's Grandmother in Chicago

Luke will graduate with a degree from Duke. That is the best option for his future going forward, and I don't blame him one bit for making the choice that he made.

I wish the kid the best, even if I will uncontrollably yell, "SWEEP THE LEG, JOHNNY!" every time he's in full view of my TV screen.

I don't have an ounce of hate for him, but if we had not got Murray and LK was lighting it up at Duke, I just might have.

Same fans that get on to Arkansas fans for Monk, trash him. I wish the best for him, but hope Duke loses every game by 30.

He made a bad choice and he will have to live with it. Doesn't make him an enemy.

Playing at Duke does!!!!

My take is the kid didn't want to come here and compete or knew if he did he'd never see the floor.
He's currently not starting at Duke, a team that isn't exactly full of scrubs. Pretty hard to duck competition for playing time if you go to Duke or Kentucky. Both squads are stacked with McDonalds AAs.

Based on what I saw, our burger boys are a lot better than yours. And while he got run for Duke, I doubt he'd see much PT for UK.

Would have been a decent player here, even though he will never be a very good defender. When he signed with Duke, i really didn't care. Cal usually recruits a different kind of athlete than Duke and as good of a shooter as this kid will be in time, if he doesn't fit with Cal's style of play, he probably made the right move by going with Duke. To me he never was a big loss. I'm sure 2 years from now he will look like the best shooter in the country but you know what? We will still have a better and more talented fit to our team at his spot on the floor than this kid. If it wasn't for that thought, i might care a lil more a "uk fan" chose Duke over Kentucky.

The whole transfer thing is ridiculous. Luke will eventually become a spot up, knock down shooter.

It's just impossible for him to get good shots when the team has weak PG play. When Thornton comes of age, and he undoubtedly will, Luke's stats will certainly benefit. He just had no room to work against UK on Tuesday.

They certainly looked better on Tuesday, that's for sure. But I'm going to withhold an overall assessment until we get a sample size bigger than 3 games.

Agree 100%

Laying the ground work for a possible transfer?
Seriously, would UK take a transfer from duke and how would that sit with the BBN?

My transfer comment on his mothers comment was a lighthearted jk
"Seriously" part was just a thought on how would BBN react if any Duke player wanted to transfer here.
You might have mixed the two.

You twisted my comment.

You're telling me BBN wouldn't like it if Kyrie Irving, Jabari Parker, Jahlil Okafor, or Justise Winslow wanted to transfer to Kentucky?

I really Don't know how the BBN would respond, hence the question. I have never even considered it happening B4 today. How would the dukies respond if it was flipped?

I really

I can say, without hesitation, that if a guy like Anthony Davis wanted to transfer to Duke, we would take him with open arms.

Honestly, the only school where a transfer might give Duke fans some pause would be UNC. That's just my opinion, obviously.

I have no idea exactly how the BBN would respond, but I believe a duke transfer here would start long contentious thread(s)in the rafters.

Some of you guys sound like the Arkansas fans talking about Monk. The kid and his family made what they thought was the best decision for his future. They probably made the right decision because I don't see him cracking into our rotation this year or next. It's a win/win situation...we were able to get Murray and Luke is able to get minutes at Duke. Go Cats!!!

Agree. His entire family sound like life-long UK fans. Lots of kids grow up UK fans and go elsewhere for various reasons. I hope his dad doesn't read all this and renounce his UK fan hood. I hope the kid averages 20 per game unless playing UK and has a great carrier.....and Duke loses every game!

I could see Kennard as eventually being a Jimmer Freddette type player, a very good scorer in college whose game doesn't fit well in the NBA.

you ever want to do something and grow up and realize man "Am I good enough" to beat out Booker, Harrison's etc. He loved UK but in back of your mind, can I play there.
You go on visit and the other team looks and plays like you, I feel like I am not in outer space when it comes being able to play. Cal recruited him and visited him hard and is very cordial still to this day.

Came down that the kid never felt like he could see the floor and fact Duke is a top notch school and coach that said he was going to play.
I think if he was top 10-20 player and not just a spot up shooter than he would probably found a way to bring himself to UK.
IMO
