Jaxson commits

"Well, we didn't get dressed up for nothing."

I was waiting for this, now you don’t have to worry and add another name to the miss board! Got Em!!! Charge!!!

Nice piece. Honestly wasn’t tripping either way, but I like having at least one guy with experience in Pope’s system.
Always nice having a fringe NBA talent who has excelled in the system before. Huge for early season as all these new guys learn to play together and their role. He is a guy we can run stuff for right away.

I normally think Pilgrim doesn’t have sources although I enjoy his content. But didn’t he say a couple weeks ago that Robinson’s deal with UK was already worked out for when he withdrew?
He may have, I actually heard that rumor but I can’t remember from where. It was out there that they already had an agreement in place if he withdrew and that is how it played out. That’s why I wasn’t too worried last night because I hoped that was true, he had made many comments about Pope that made me think it’s the only coach he would play for in college again.

Not a bad squad considering the circumstances.
Pretty sure that if we started 2 months ago and someone said this could be the roster take it or leave it when Pope started with no assistants and 0 players everyone would have been like hell yeah!!

Meanwhile Cal is trying to blaze trails by going with seven players. Meaning he’ll run them into the ground and have even more injuries than he normally does.
I can’t wait to see how they even practice, and what happens when one is mad they didn’t get as much money or didn’t get paid?
Joe Adams is dying to be known as an insider and dude guessed one thing right. Like the most obvious commit if he came back to school and he acts like Nodtradumbass.

We got him let go.

Now maybe everyone can calm down on Pope lol. Let the guy cook, look at the roster he just assembled in a few damn months. I don’t know many coaches who could come in after Calipari and do that. Exactly what everyone said they want, upperclassman, ELITE shooters, excellent system and coaching, it’s what we SAID we wanted.

I have to say I’m usually right unless im
Wrong.

Anybody that calls @Son_Of_Saul a fraud on here needs to run to the bathroom and take a quick look in the mirror…… Dude has brought numerous of great conversations to this board over the years and has been here more years than most of us….

Like I said in another thread this coaching change was supposed to bring us all together….. We still have separate sides and still keep going at each other like DAMN come on people. Let’s at least give Pope a chance to construct a roster of his own players and let him at least coach some games before we cast some judgement!

SoS is a real Kentucky fan than I've interacted with a lot over the years and decades but his perception of balls and strikes tends to be prone to pessimism and he is just slightly more patient and forgiving than Darth Vader.

Hard, somewhat unfair at times, but true Big Blue.
Thanks, @Bluegrassking . I actually think your critique is fair.

Some of these newer posters don't know me yet, and they can't seem to stomach sharper critique. I love Kentucky and I support Coach Pope, and I will give him a chance just like I did Coach Cal, Coach Gillispie, Coach Smith, and Coach Pitino before them.

I like what he's doing so far. I'd give his efforts this Spring an A- (up from a B/B+ before Robinson committed). For comparison, my grade for Calipari the last four years was an F.

I think we have the ingredients of a potentially great coach. Time will tell, of course, but I think things are going in a solid direction.

Thank you, sir. You're one of the best.

Didn’t Joe Adam’s say if he came back it would be awhile before he decided last night or something?

I second this. @Son_Of_Saul is one of my favorite posters on this site. Do I agree with everything he says? No..but I can disagree with him and it will still be a mutually respectful conversation.
Yes he can be somewhat pessimistic at times. But you have to read between the lines. He’s a true blue fan who just wants the best for his team.
Nothing wrong with that

I second this, and you @Bkocats are one of my favorites too :).

Who is he anyway? Literally everything he has put out in last month is wrong.
Some rando Kentucky fan who happened to get a couple hundred fools to follow what he tweets. He fancies himself as some sort of Trilly Donovan for Kentucky Basketball. A Pilgram, Tucker, or Matt Jones wannabe IMHO. I’ve heard he even does Twitter spaces, and all that kinda stuff to talk about his scoops/news too. I guess he has a lot of time and is hoping to take it until he makes it.

Will you drop that minus if he gets Riley with the 13th scholarship?

He mentioned on his premium IRC chat (well worth the money btw!) that sometimes he has to be wrong on purpose to protect his sources.
