Javian Hester - 5 year WR with 583 career yards - transfers in

Hope isn't a plan. If a football player hasn't developed by the time he is a redshirt junior, it isn't gonna happen. This is a complete waste of a scholarship.
Watch what you say around here everything is going to be alright according to a few. The ones transferring out sucked anyway we will get all those STUDS transferring in to take their place. The reality of the situation is we're going to get Joker type replacement players. I sure hope I'm wrong but this ship is sinking faster than the titanic!

Imo he is a depth piece which im fine with as long as we didn't pay much. We have decent enough returning talent at wr especially if we're shifting to a more physical approach as it seems we are.

I wish we could let the process play out before we criticize and constantly belittle our coaches. Hester is not going to be our go to WR, and is a good depth piece with experience and size. Hoping we grab a couple guys better than him to start

Brings some depth and maturity to the WR room. Former 4 star who out of HS tested as follows:

4.65 second 40-yard dash
4.13 second shuttle
36.5 inch vertical

Limited production early in his career due to injuries. Last season he caught 14 passes for 315 yards (22.5 yards per catch) and 1 TD.

Looks to be a candidate to be the X Receiver and to be a Red Zone threat (if we ever get down there) at 6’4’ 202 lbs.

Heisman candidate? No!
Role player on a team that needs role players? Should be!

Welcome to BBN, J.J.!!!

I agree. So far I have actually liked what we have been picking up. Hopefully during the rebuild they can bring back a good culture.

If another SEC team had signed J.J., the headline would read "Vanderbilt picks up former 4 - Star Receiver". When UK picks up the same the headline is more like "Kentucky adds WR depth".

The "flip the roster project" is going swimmingly! Dude had FOUR STARS next to his name as a recruit way back in 2020. Surely this will be the year he lives up to the hype!
Sounds like he has battled injuries for most of his career. But yeah, there should be more production there.

He has the size that Stoops loves for DBs. I wonder if we are bringing him in to be a possession receiver, special teams contributor, or to try out defense?

WR is the least of my concerns. He’s a depth piece who’s played under bush before. We haven’t decent talent there and I’m sure they’ll get a starter level guy before it’s all done.

With metrics like those I hope he can catch because he won't be burning any DBs on the field.

The corner fade is a grand idea. I only hope one of our QBs can actually throw that pass.

I love the Cover 3 podcast. They made a really good point. The talent in every conference is just recycling. Every fanbase believes whatever went out is replaced with a better piece. That just isn’t the reality. The outliers are a few teams that actually dramatically improved and fell completely apart.

The reality is we won’t really know until they start playing next year.

A 5 year kid with 500 yards is no longer a 4 star silly when they do that. But that doesn’t mean he can’t be a contributor.

2025 is a make it or break it year. Stoops is either going to go out in flames or he’s going to take his own advice and let his coaches do their job. Which means Hands off the offense Buddy. This team is still in the process of finding itself. We’ve had 20 leave, another 3-4 go pro and others who graduated. Still a lot of unanswered questions but if you don’t start out with a group that’s all on the same page then it will be one big clusterfock like it was this year.
