Here’s his Rival’s profile already updated with his Kentucky transfer. So he came in after 2020 and doesn't get the Covid year?
I think Someone said he had a season ending injury against Missouri.Friends that are huge UGA fans tell me
1. He was going to lose his job to the Fr (that was playing better towards the end)
2. If he was great...he'd just go to NFL
3. Sounds like he is a bit lacking discipline in overrunning his lane and assignment playing football.....allows the bck to bounce it out and/or cutback and not the greatest run support LBer
My biggest qeustion is that Dumas-Johnson is more of Mike vs. WIll LBer is he not? And we have Deryck Jackons for Mike and we need a WIll that can play in space a bit more vs. a Mike LBer...
Am I missing somethin?
Thanks @Grumpyolddawg for throwing us a bone! We can definitely use some Georgia studs on this side.Big time. @Grumpyolddawg has given some good insight on his game. Seems like a great teammate and leader. Exactly what you want from the middle of your defense.

I fully credit Grumpy for our portal additions from Georgia!!
Don't think it was a dig but a compliment.I can't tell if that was a dig or not. I just tried to give the best description of them I could and to be fair with it. We actually had 4 LB transfer, one to Arky who played a little, another to FSU who started a handful of games but didn't produce much and another to GT who I didn't know was on the team. And of course JDJ.
Don't think it was a dig but a compliment.
As an aside, I'm very envious of GA's OL class. That's a type of class UK can only dream of.
And, while no one was watching, GA hired Donte Williams away from USC to replace Fran Brown. Williams is a highly regarded young coach who is a helluva recruiter. Good job!
No dig, intended.I can't tell if that was a dig or not.
Williams may be more of a recruiter than hands on coach at this point of his career but he was USC's interim coach when they canned Helton a couple of years ago so somebody there thought he was pretty bright. Was known to recruit the SoCal/LA area with great success. Thanks, I don't know how good the OL will be but there are some huge kids in the group. The only one I have seen play is the kid from GA. and he has some serious conditioning work ahead of him. Well all do probably but this one needs to drop about 50lb. May need a couple this fall for depth, but none, baring injury will be counted on, we have 6 returning that played lots of snaps in 23.
Losing Fran Brown was a blow, but getting hired as a head coach of a P5 teams hard to turn down. I am not familiar with Williams and was concerned about his coaching considering USC's defense. But got Muschamp and Kirby so it's covered. Did read he was a top flight recruiter.
No dig, intended.
Just a poor attempt at humor.
Of the 4 who have transferred, I think we are getting the best.
I think it was just a fun comment in response to someone thanking Grumpy for Pop.Don't think it was a dig but a compliment.

Yeah!I am a UGA fan posting here..
D'Eryk Jackson will return for a COVID season and start again at Mike LB. Pop Dumas-Johnson has prior experience playing Will LB at GA and will take over that position for Coach White in 2024. Daveren Rayner will probably return for a COVID season as the primary backup. Behind those guys, the younger developmental depth includes Jayvant Brown, Glenn Godfrey, Devin Smith, and Steven Soles, all very talented. Devin Smith will soon be a starter. Bottom line, we are better off now at the two ILB positions than we were in 2022 even though Wallace is leaving.I'm very excited to see this guy in Blue!
How do we think this will play out though? JDJ is a MLB and we already have Jackson there. Jackson is a run stopper who struggles in space. I've read the same thing about JDJ. Unless we somehow scheme around this weakness do you think both of these guys will start together and we try to get our 11 best on the field at the same time or does JDJ start over Jackson? If so, who would take the WLB spot? Rayner?
Good to hear about the inside blitz, Wallace was excellent when we brought him so hopefully it remains a strong point.Alot of that is true but some is a stretch. JDJ is elite tackle to tackle MLB, strong, sure tackler, he may not be elite but very good inside Blitzer. As plays got wider he may have over ran a few but not many. He is still good on wde stuff. Just not elite. In coverage he just isn't good in space, it's his only real weakness.
He was going to see his snap count drop considerably in 24. But I suspect he would have been a team captain and starter. He is a great leader, he would get drafted if he declared I think, not early because of his coverage skills. He is a middle LB doesn't have the length either of our defenses look for with edge guys.
If you are looking for a guy good in space JDJ is probably not your guy, now he may push the other guy to will. I am not going to declare him your best LB, but he is very good and has been told
I hate losing JDJ more than BV, not because I know he is a better player but because I know JDJ is a very good SEC player capable of being All SEC. BV may very well be the same, but he hasn't done it yet and is a gamble, while JDJ is as sure thing as it gets
Yeah!
UGA is the new Bama!
I expect we will soon see Kirby’s last name spelled: $mart!
Makes sense. We are over the top on tackle to tackle even though many play the game largely in space now. If you notice what uga did with us this year it was play wide on the perimeter. We can’t do it.Alot of that is true but some is a stretch. JDJ is elite tackle to tackle MLB, strong, sure tackler, he may not be elite but very good inside Blitzer.
