Jamon Dumas-Johnson kentucky

Big pickup to replace Wallace.

Is Jackson coming back? Hard to keep up with all the eligibility.

This would shore up our front 7 outside a true edge rusher but I haven’t seen UK mentioned with those yet.

Where is Wallace going? Must’ve missed it

Friends that are huge UGA fans tell me

1. He was going to lose his job to the Fr (that was playing better towards the end)
2. If he was great...he'd just go to NFL
3. Sounds like he is a bit lacking discipline in overrunning his lane and assignment playing football.....allows the bck to bounce it out and/or cutback and not the greatest run support LBer

My biggest qeustion is that Dumas-Johnson is more of Mike vs. WIll LBer is he not? And we have Deryck Jackons for Mike and we need a WIll that can play in space a bit more vs. a Mike LBer...

Am I missing somethin?

Let's let the guy get on campus before we slice and dice.

Well he was an AA so he’s probably not too bad. He had a season ending injury in Mizzu game I believe. Not a side line to side line but really good in run support. Also a good leader. Would bet that Vandagriff had a hand in this

A LB that started and played well for the best team in college football the last couple of years. A leader that has had great coaching already. Experience to the max. Competing against a whole bunch of 4 and 5 stars along the way to earn his starting position. That is the way I like to look at it. Seems as if he should in well with what we need for next season. Should also be a great mentor for Devin Smith. Just a ton of positives in this situation for us.

And that is my point...we need a Will LBer that plays sideline to sideline do we not? Isnt' that the main difference in a Mike vs. Will backer? The Mike is strong side and Will is backside LBer in formation and plays in space more often?

Can someone explain how he was an All-American in 2022 but second team All-SEC that same year?

Shows how damn good this league is. But yeah, seems a little weird. I guess different people voting on the 2

lol exactly.

I looked it up if anyone cares. He was named All-American by espn and sporting news but not by the other organizations like the AP, Athletic etc.

The ncaa apparently combines all the different first teams and comes up with a “consensus” All-American team. Our guy was not on that but still big to be named by two organizations. Big time get.

Alot of that is true but some is a stretch. JDJ is elite tackle to tackle MLB, strong, sure tackler, he may not be elite but very good inside Blitzer. As plays got wider he may have over ran a few but not many. He is still good on wde stuff. Just not elite. In coverage he just isn't good in space, it's his only real weakness.

He was going to see his snap count drop considerably in 24. But I suspect he would have been a team captain and starter. He is a great leader, he would get drafted if he declared I think, not early because of his coverage skills. He is a middle LB doesn't have the length either of our defenses look for with edge guys.

If you are looking for a guy good in space JDJ is probably not your guy, now he may push the other guy to will. I am not going to declare him your best LB, but he is very good and has been told

I hate losing JDJ more than BV, not because I know he is a better player but because I know JDJ is a very good SEC player capable of being All SEC. BV may very well be the same, but he hasn't done it yet and is a gamble, while JDJ is as sure thing as it gets
