James Blackmond Jr out again with knee surgery

You always hate to hear about an injury like this. He seems like a genuinely good person and a very talented player. The best thing for him would likely be to get away from Bloomington as fast as possible. (I'm being facetious)

The collateral damage here could be another lost season for Indiana and Crean, but the good news is that Crean will have the built in excuse of losing Blackmon for the season right as conference play began. So, that should get him another year. :)

Just cruised by Peegs. Only one thread, 19 posts, about Blackmon. Man, that place has been Creaned of fans! No one seems to care much there anymore. If that had been one of our players, there'd be several threads with hundreds of posts by now. Kinda sad; a once-proud program reduced to a pile of, well, a movement. Just another example of IU=sucks.

Yes indeed, a movement, an evacuation.

I wonder if you had polled the fans at "the game" that inspired popcorn boxes and paintings if they'd take a win over UK at that moment if it meant they'd also have to suffer through possibly 5 years or more of mediocrity and a coach that can't get the job done but who would be given a ridiculous extension based on ONE game?

That poll would have been unanimous!

Hope Blackmon comes out okay and hope IU doesn't get in a 3OT game because he's missing.

Probably so CatEye. People are all about instant gratification, especially sports fans. I'm that way, I admit, very often.

Now, an interesting question: how many hoosiers would trade that December victory for 4 successful seasons, multiple tourney appearances, and national relevance again, given the luxury of knowing what they know now? Sadly, some of the IU fans I know would still take "The Wat Shot" to beat UK.

Poor kid's had terrible luck with his knees going all the way back to early high school. Afraid his chronic knee problems will prevent him from ever having the career it once looked like he was destined for.

I just saw espn reporting he is gone for season.....this really tough for the kid and I hope he recovers fast. however on another note if he played for the tards.....old spintino would have healed him and had him playing tonight.

Doctor - "James it looks like you'll be good to go by the end of January"
James - "Ummm I don't think so, it hurts pretty bad" "Are you sure I'm not out for the rest of the season?"

Doctor - "Nope, one month at best"
James - "Let me rephrase that, I AM going to be out for the rest of the season!" "Don't make me go back"

Too bad for JBj...

Blackmon has been wasting away and IU while the guy we got instead is getting better and better in the NBA. Has to make he and his father sick.

without him eye u is toast..When the buyout for Clappy gets to a reasonable amount..he's toast also.:chairshot::chairshot::chairshot:
