Jamarl Baker

I never said he would. I'm responding to the thread topic. People saying "you're crazy, why would he leave, etc..." are presuming as much as the people speculating that he could leave. Face it, Calipari has had more than half a dozen players leave out of nowhere, and not for the NBA. The reasons came out later. Attack the person who started the "rumor", I'm just making conversation. It's not that far-fetched if he left...
I see what you mean, he's had 3 or 4 transfers in 9 years so its safe to assume Jamarl Baker would give up a year of eligibility to bolt. I wonder if Cal will leave too. I mean it's not that far fetched. He's left every job he's ever had. I heard someone say Iowa State, maybe that why Barker is sitting out until the 2019-20 season to possibly transfer there.

Cal was able to recruit Baker to come to UK. What has changed? At this point it wouldn't be about PT. There will be exactly two 2Gs on the team next year and he will be one of them and has been in the system for a year.

For him to transfer there'd have to be something else going on. Kid is from California and is going to leave UK for Ames, Iowa? SMH

More than likely Quade will be the only returning player in the backcourt from this years team. That’s ONE GUARD with any returning experience. I would think Keldon Johnson will play small forward but he could also play some shooting guard. That leaves Quickley and Herro as true freshmen as the only other backcourt players. That’s not a lot of competiton for Baker to beat out. Even if he doesn’t start the opportunity to play plenty of minutes will be there. It would seem like an odd decision to transfer under those circumstances.

LOL at anyone that is taking the Iowa state or Baker transferring things seriously. Come on people.

If he goes to ISU and sits out, there would only be two other 2g's on the team (one a freshman 2* and the other a 3* guy). I think Baker would beat either of them out for pt.

And yes, I agree, leaving the bluegrass for the cornfield - something ain't right.

i would not give him that high of a rating

it does make you wonder about the maturity and intelligence level of someone that starts a troll thread like this one

Sorry, not a troll. I want him to be back. Damn you all are harsh. I formerly went as BengalWACO.. give me a damn break guys.

I heard he was transferring to Duke, the NCAA is also granting him immediately eligibility along with the rest of our team.

If we have learned anything under Calipari its that there could always be players we don't expect who leave early and not with the intent of going to the NBA. It has happened a few times. Kyle Wiltjer, Ryan Harrow, Marcus Lee, Charles Matthews, Isaac Humphries

All of those guys played at least one year (Harrow, Lee and Humphries were here more than a year). Baker wasn't healthy enough to play for anyone.

You're either trolling or not the sharpest tool in the shed. Any chance that you're a big Mark Stoops fan?

just hush please.you know nothing about what Baker will do

OR, because he didn't get to play, and show anything, and sees that maybe 5-6 players from this team return and 3-4 more top 50 recruits come in, he's going to battle for at least 2 more years to see significant minutes. If he's good enough to do that, he's good enough to go to a mid-tier power 5 school (like Iowa State) and probably start as soon as he's eligible.

Personally, I think it's big for a player who isn't an elite, sure-fire OAD recruit, to see early minutes at UK, KU, Duke, etc...otherwise, they get lost in the shuffle. It has happened numerous times at all 3 programs in the OAD era. Baker fits the exact mold of someone who may consider leaving.
If the scenario you lay out were to be true, then we don't need him here anyway. Gotta have more mental fortitude than that to play at Kentucky.

Not gonna happen though. He has already stated he will be back and ready to contribute next season. Stop trying to make something out of nothing.

All these people are fools on here, where’s he going for god sakes. I hear he’s working part time at tolly ho’s and seems happy
