Jamal Murray

LOL! Some people just seem to lose their minds after every Kentucky loss.
Yes, there are a ton of people that need to be called out for their comments in regards to our coach and players. Unreal.
What last year's team did and didn't do has turned a large part of our fanbase into unrealistic and unpleasable people.

Lol. He shoots and gets accused of be a gunner. He doesn't shoot he gets accused of a lack of aggression on offense. Smh
He can't win with this fanbase. Yes he blew a defensive assignment but he has accomplished way more positive things for us than negative and these hard lessons are going to pay off in March.

If you go back and watch the game. More than half of Selden's points in the 2nd half were scored with Hawkins in the game and Murray on the bench, including a string of 10 straight. I don't think all the D can be blamed on his D. What about the great block he had or the couple of steals. He definitely got lost on that corner 3, other than that ... Selden had a great night and it didn't hurt that our bigs were so focused on Perry Ellis when he drove that they didn't get the normal help.
Can't blame one player. Lots of missed FT's ... Hawkins shot 3 untimely 3's ... all misses ... Willis missed a couple of open 3's he usually makes and made some stupid fouls. Skal played well on offense and couldn't rebound. Heck as great as Ulis played he had 2 very costly turnovers. It was not one player.

This is the kind of game that can play with murray's head. Here's the truth. Ulis was on fire and looking for his shot. This meant fewer passes to murray and fewer baskets for murray. And I think Murray had the voice of Cal in the back of his head - don't do too much. So he didn't do too much. We actually needed him to do more when Ulis was fatigued in last 5 minutes of regulation but Ulis still felt he was on fire, and Murray contented to get fewer touches. I wish Murray had the ball in his hands for that last shot in regulation, at least he can rise over his defender.

I missed that, how in the world could anyone but Tyler Ulis be player of the game?
Yeah, anyone that chose someone not named Tyler Ulis for Player of the Game either didn't watch the game or just wanted to see someone other than TU get that award.

Some of you are dumber than a box of rocks. Murray came out on the radio post game because Ullis was doing the ESPN post game.

I'm not so inclined to criticize our guys defense as I am to acknowledge the attributes Selden brings to the table. He was the difference maker.

And, when you stop and think about it, he's kind of a composite of Andrew and Aaron Harrison. Big and strong enough to go wherever he wants. Can get into the lane, absorb contact, and still finish at the rim. Makes his free throws and makes a good percentage of his threes.

This is exactly what our opponents had to deal with when the twins were here and, as I recall, the results for us weren't too shabby.

Still, I have to say, it would've been real nice if the stripes called the game the same way on both ends. JMHO.

If the game left me anything I wish Jamal would have been more aggressive. Especially in the last 10 minutes of the game.

I agree with this. I kept waiting for it to happen but they seemed to go away from him. I kept screaming NOOOOO when Hawkins took a shot.

Murray played a decent game as well as the rest of the team especially playing at AFH. The fans here are unreal that most were saying Thursday and Friday that Kentucky will get beat Saturday and wasn't even thinking positive about the game. We outplayed Kansas and should have won the game. In most situations the last play with the game tied Ulis would have came down and would have either scored for the winner or finding the open man for the winner. We were setup to win this game and in the last minute or two we played good ball except for letting Selden hit the open 3 that gave Kansas the 1 point lead. We hold Selden and come back down Murray hits the 2 and we are up 4 points with under 30 seconds to play. Then Murray blocks Selden with under 20 sec to play before Ellis finally going to the line and hitting 1 of 2 and we are still up 3 with the ball and would have been fouled to go the line and all we needed is 1 out 2 for a 4 point lead and that would have been the Win at Kansas. The dagger was the big 3 from Selden and also Skal not holding on to the Rebound with 9 sec to go and Ellis striping it away and getting to the foul line and tying the game. Then last still tied and we have the ball with 9 seconds Ulis never loses the ball like yesterday. The Ulis we all know either goes in and hits a 15 ft jumper or hits the open man for the winner. We just had too many opportunities in last 1 minute of play to win this game at Kansas.

Last I checked, Jamal Murray leads this team in scoring, is shooting only slightly worse overall than Tyler Ulis (but far better on 3 pointers), has made nearly twice as many 3's as any other player on the team, is hitting 75% of his FT's, and is averaging 5 rebounds a game.

Yeah, let's rag on that guy.

Just to be clear, I'm not ragging. If anything I wanted him to gun more. We don't need Dom taking shots, he doesn't have it. If this team wants to win #9 they need to swallow their pride and put up shots.

If it wasn't for murrays nice pull up we'd of lost on ot.

Shame he's not from Owensboro.
@GonzoCat90 this is completely off topic.

I often find myself thinking back to our unfinished NBA GM Scratch Draft. As I am sure you do as well. I found a paper with our rosters on it and I was thinking we still ought to finish that one up some day. What are your thoughts. Maybe at the end of the NBA regular season (mid-April)?

It's interesting to look back at our rosters with the benefit of hindsight. Some moves are embarrassing and some where better than they originally appeared.

I don't know who has the better analysis: towns and his slow walk or Murray the black hole?

Feel free to fire it up. I'd like to do another one this summer, they're just a fun way to kill the time. That one might be a good launching point into doing a new one.
