Just out of curiosity, I watched a video summary of Jaland Lowe in a game where his not very good team beat a somewhat better (hey, they made the tournament) UNC-Cheats team.

He was fairly dominant in that game against pretty good UNC guards (that team's problem was in the front court.). He looked quicker than the Cheater's guards. He was able to get to the rim and finished pretty well.

He scored 18 points, and had six rebounds -- and seven assists with few turnovers. He pretty much willed his team to a win that seemed important at the time.

There is a reason this guy was ALL-ACC, third team. He had the ability to take over a game. Yeah, the ACC was down but its not like its the Horizon league.

Diamond in the rough. Pope and staff if he is willing to put in the work can make him a very good player

The trolls and the chicken littles in the signing thread act like being third team All-ACC is nothing, while lamenting the tragedy of not signing an Ivy League guard.

Even in a down year, playing against teams like UNC, Duke and Clemson is a lot tougher than playing against Dartmouth and Columbia, just in terms of the physical strength and speed of the guards. Making an honors list in the ACC tells me that people who know about basketball saw this guy as a talent. I'll take that over the opinions of the average Rafters poster who got cut from middle school hoops, but thinks reading statistics is the same as scouting talent.

Only thing that worries me about his stats is the 3 point percentage. Hopefully he shoots better than his numbers or teams will just sag off of him and clog the lane.

ETA - Anyone know what kind of defense he brings?

He is better than the Princeton kid. Much better athlete and can really distribute the ball.
