Jahlil Okafor street fight video

I don't know the Sixers big men but could that other guy with him be Noel? Or maybe Embiid? I hope Noel isn't hanging around that douche.

UK players are in Miami doing community service during thanksgiving. Just saying....
This is the pros. They go out all the time. I once met Metta World Peace at a strip club at like 4am the day of a game. I left at 430am and he was still there. It was during his first stint with the Lakers so he actually played a lot during that time.

Okafor is a complete dumbass for getting caught up in something like that. In Boston you have dudes that will put your ass to sleep, too. For good.

The mean streets of Boston? I think eminem used to make fun of that.

19 years old intoxicated on the streets of Boston is not a good thing. Okafor needs to learn to go to the Sizzler and back to the room when they are on the road.

Also. Cowherd was preaching last year, that his "sources" claimed he was a head case and K was not a fan.

Whitey Bulger does not approve of this.

Boston's old Irish-Catholic neighborhoods were as tough as any. I guess because we're talking about white people that is somehow not supposed to be respected but those dudes were no joke and Okafor would definitely get tuned up for acting like that.

boston is a pretty small "big" city. all the places a pro athlete would go too are in good areas. but the townies there are the worst. always up for a fight, doesnt matter who or over what. bunch of degenerates.

but okafor is an idiot heading down the wrong path. reports coming out now about a previous altercation where he had a gun pointed at him.

Also, I'm another Bostonian checking in - I would determine the toughness of the city "medium". Any city with a 4 1/2 million metro has some places to get into trouble. It also has many, many really nice places. The garden isn't in a particularly bad neighborhood or anything. It's sandwiched between Beacon Hill (really nice), and North End (beautiful architecture, our little Italy) so unless he pissed off a Don sitting outside Giacomo's in the North End, I doubt he got himself into too much trouble. Now if he'd decided to wander off a few more blocks and into Chinatown, on the other hand, who knows..

The fact that there was another incident a month ago makes it apparent this a pattern of behavior.

Some people get really stupid and aggressive when they've been drinking. Sounds like Jahlil is one of them. His "people" or whoever need to rein him in or he's going to end up in a lot of trouble or getting hurt.

Hopefully this is a wake up call.

He also got pulled over sometime ago for going 108 mph on the Ben Franklin bridge, according to ESPN. Damn Duke players, ruining professional basketball!

edit: Didn't see Smashcat has already posted a link.

I appreciate what Jah did for Duke, but someone (dad, Coach K, friends) need to get his head on straight.
He's gonna sabotage his career like this.

According to the Philadelphia paper, the other 76er teammate who was there during the Boston incident was 6'-11" Christian Wood.

I was afraid it might have been Nerlens but apparently that's not the case. As you note, there's only a few players on the Sixers team who are as tall as Okafor. (Embiid, Noel and Wood).

As much as I don't like Duke, I'm not going to rag on this kid at all.

These three incidents so soon after moving to the league and having millions thrown at him is just too concerning. Instead I'm going to pray for him and his family that he comes around and starts making better decisions.

The kid has incredible talent and has his whole life ahead of him, and appears to be a good kid despite all this.

Hopefully, incidents like this will push the NBA to re-look at the OAD rule. Not many kids have the emotional maturity to deal with such sudden wealth.

That's one thing I really appreciate that Cal has been doing in recent years - teaching these guys humility and appreciation for their blessings and trying to build their character. Feeding the homeless in Miami, visiting sick kids in Lexington, etc.

kzryzewski couldn't even be bothered to make him guard ballscreens when he was a player at duke

he wasn't held accountable at duke because of his talent, and he's clearly been coddled his entire life by his weirdo father, and this is the result

I wonder how many people this big thug assaulted when he was at Duke? With Krzyzewski being the mayor & police chief of Durham, NC rolled into one. You know Okafors thuggish behavior got covered up down there. I can't think of a bigger hoodlum in sports that I've seen.

How many thugs have UK sent to the Pro Basketball league?

Hah. Knowing Nerlens, we should start a thread about things he ends up in the news for.

"Tall man with flat top arrested for kidnapping children with cancer and taking them to swanky events around town- details at 11."

So now it might be about Okafor getting denied by girls that were hanging with the victim. That's hilarious
http://www.tmz.com/#article/2015/11/27/jahlil-okafor-victim-rejected-by-chicks-hecklers/
Sounds like the perfect storm for two drunk people.

Some quotes from that article:

" The victim also says Okafor's allegations that he was swarmed by hecklers outside of Storyville nightclub is pure garbage.
The truth, according to the victim, is that Okafor approached two girls that were hanging with the victim and tried to get their numbers. The girls weren't interested, and shot Okafor down.
The victim claims a verbal altercation ensued ... and Okafor became unhinged, eventually rushing at him and punching him in the face ...

"As for Okafor, he says he's embarrassed by the incident, but stands by his story that he reacted because he felt threatened by hecklers."

Why would anyone want to heckle him?
