Jacob Toppin & some Fans on this board

I’ll tell what would make me happy.

Top 10 guys staying a year is fine. Top 40 and below guys staying Atleast 2-3 years.

Problem is players come here expecting to leave after one year regardless of their ranking. If things don’t go their way year one they transfer, leave anyway or every once and awhile one will return for one final year.

That I can think of, we’ve had FIVE players in 10 years that actually played stay atleast 3-4 year. Hawkins, Willis, Poythress, WCS and Richards. The first two and Nick had no choice and, WCS pretty much only made year 3 due to injury.

People try to say oh this happens everywhere but that’s bull. It doesn’t. The kids Cal recruits have one foot out the door before they get here.

it’s not too much to ask to want our players to have both feet in the house with the door shut while here.

But yet you make excuses for the kids that did stay, you can’t have it both ways. We all can ask but in the end it’s the players decisions.

I’d love to see the staff go after Okoro from Oregon. Only if they can confirm mentality wasn’t the issue he had okay Oregon. Could be a multi year piece as well.
Okoro would be a nice fit, i agree. Also another name M J Cage. Blast from the past.

ROTFLMAO..... people are getting shamed for not going overboard and over hyping players now???

We need an elite big to be really special next year....... this kid doesnt fit that especially when he has to sit out a year ..... nice to have him but i'm not going to have an orgasm over landing him. now get Banchero and my excitement meter will go through the roof

I hope he expands the roster to 12 players, and the 12th addition ends up being Kuminga, Cisse, or Banchero.

Why keep the roster thin? It didn't help us last year when we lost Allen to injury and Whitney quit the team.

Plus, the idea that adding too many guys means feeding too many mouths is also BS. A thin roster construct didn't help us keep guys like Whitney or Juzang around.

I say add as many good players as you can, and let the cream rise to the top. If you lose one or two, so be it.

Anyone using the referencing of an orgasm when talking about 18-20 year old kids is exactly what is wrong. SMH

Thanks for telling us how it is. We all understand now.
You are a perfect example of who he is talking about. Your response says a lot about you and your intelligence. You literally just put yourself into that category. DONT be that dude. You are the 3% that Coach Cal talks about being irrational and we should just ignore.
This dude, the OP just made a factual thoughtful post about a small, (3%) group of fans that are morons and actually hurt the program with their comments, and then here comes YOU diving right in proclaiming to be a part of it.
The OP did nothing wrong and made a great post. And you not only showed your Arse but you jumped right into the 3%.

Kyups01 = 3% of UK fans that you cannot rationalize with.

Yes UK fans are whiny ass people. If they just sit back and let Calipari do what he does, we end up with a really good to great team every year. There is a reason he's won more NCAA tournament games than every single coach since he was hired at UK. Every one that bitches about what happens under his tenure just appears dumber and dumber by each post. Cal has got this, has had this and will have this.

EXACTLY....kyups01 is one who you are referring to.

Hope the so called fans hatin on the pickup of Jacob Toppin like crow. He just needs time to fill out his body and develop.
Whether he plays this season or not, he adds a much needed body to practice who isn't a walk-on.
By the following season he will be a valuable part of the rotation and far ahead of any recruit we could've signed. This is a low risk-high reward move that adds depth and talent to our depleted roster.

I don’t think the main reason is the worry of leaving as much as it destroys chemistry when they get upset over a lack of playing time. Plus as much as we think kids are begging to come here, the idea of not being the big fish in a small pond mentality with players stops them from even coming.
