Only predicting it THIS close because the freshmen should log big minutes tonight and I don’t expect them to keep the same pace of our vets. Pace will account for the 61 as we will play good defensively but easier offense means more defensive possessions. Go Cats

You're right that is a typical team Cal scheduled. What is it called the "Unity" series? I know for last several years he has scheduled 3 or 4 of these teams every year. All ranked 300 or below. I believe they play a round robbin.
Like you say hopefully this is the last year the deal was in place. If not hopefully Pope can get out of it.
I'm not suggesting UK play a top 50 team every game but there are plenty of mid majors ranked in the top 100 or at least top 150 that would love to come to Rupp.

Yeah, I may turn this on off a bit early. Been a long day. I enjoy fun blowouts, but this could be a 50 point rout. And those can get a bit boring at times. Especially against a middle school team.
Unlike Cal, Pope isn't going to lose to these 300 ranked teams. But beating them does absolutely nothing for seeding.
Yeah, it's the Unity series to get HBCUs some air time. I'm not upset about that. Some of the HBCUs have had some decent teams at times. This one is just.....woof.
I’m going to be watching even in a blowout because I want to see if Noah, Chandler, Kriisa and Perry can develop some rhythm going forward.

Yeah, I will too. But if we're up 50 with like 5 to go. I may do something else for a bit. Because we know that will turn into a bit of a tweet fest at the end to make the gap smaller lol.
We usually play those in exhibition. I'd like to rotate the instates too, but Murray wants us to go down there first. And we all know, Cal or not, that's just not happening. It would need to be a neutral site game to let both MSU and UK fans have good attendance, and there's just not a good place not named Rupp/Yum for that.
I could see Pope be willing to play at Murray in a 2 for 1 deal.
Not a straight home and home though. No coach at a high end school would do a straight one for one with a in state mid major.
Murray should only get a home game in Nashville. Or in Evansville. Their arena is too small.
This game for sure does nothing for our rankings or Kenpom Sagarin Net rankings. It does help a smaller college. But if what the team says is no just words but practiced from within, then it will get ugly and then uglier, finally ending in a NASCAR type crash for the visitors.
Murray's arena is just so damn small. Diddle is too. Both seat less than 9,000. So it's just hard for us to go there.
Luckily, we get to see my Tops come to Rupp next week! That will be a fun one!
Murray in Evansville could be a decent compromise.
