Microwave culture. Crean needs at least two more years to build up the program.
Firing Crean will set that program back 10 years. He needs at least 5 more years to get the program back right.
I don't see how anybody else but Tom Crean can possibly make it work it Bloomington.
I think it's obvious that he needs and deserves a lifetime contract. Their fans are unrealistic to think they can turn that program around in anything less than 35 years.
They need to calm the heck down.
The world went and got itself in a big hurry.

There's only one logical replacement for Crean. That homerun hire is rising from the ashes in Texas.
They'd be twice as good with the current Butler coach.
Anyone IU fan who wants Crean out has an obvious agenda.
Indiana's fan base deserves nothing more and nothing less than what they have in Crean. Their sanctimonious superiority, seething and maniacal hatred of Kentucky, and comical, outright delusional perception of themselves as a program that matters makes for a perfect case of schadenfreude. Their irrelevance as a program is a perfect bookend to the bullying, "look at me" boorishness that Knight inaugurated several decades ago and made endemic to IU culture. I cannot tell you how pleased I am to declare their program utterly worthless, save for the comedic value their joke of a program provides to all decent basketball citizens. These are great times...
I'm starting to get the feeling some of the IU fans are now rooting for their own team to lose. They should have thought ahead to this day when they slurped Crean for a December win. Their irrational hate of all things UK bought him a long term contract. Suck on that IU fans.

Come on IU! You can't get rid of a leader like Crean! You guys could end up setting your school back 10 years by firing this guy! Don't do it! Geez! It has only been 7 years! Give this man a chance to recruit and dismiss his own players before you judge his performance on the court!
When they finally wisen up and do what they should have done 5 years ago, who do you guys think they bring in as headcoach? I know most IU fans want the celtics coach, but i don't think that's even realistic to consider. Why would Brad ever leave the celtics and coach IU? He's not doing a bad job in the NBA and with the right pick in next year's draft, he could have a team with some potential if they draft the right guy. Whoever IU gets, he can't be as bad as Crean! Crean should call and thank Wade at least 10 times a day for helping to make his bank account so big! He has stolen so much money from IU. It's crazy to think he stole IU's money from coaching and his teams couldn't steal since they play no defense.

They will soon join schools such as San Francisco, Oklahoma State, and Cincy as teams that were great more than 25 years ago.

It's our misfortune that Crean slipped by UK, and then later had to settle for John Calipari. That ungrateful fanbase should reflect upon the blessings they have accrued.

If they fire Crean, two of their calls should go to Gregg Marshall and Archie Miller.

This is absolutely true ugoff. That's why he got that huge extension. That one win is why he's still their coach. Their UK hate led them to this day.
Crean is building the IU program the Right Way. You can't let him go. IU fans are more concerned about having players that graduate than winning a few more silly basketball games.

I can't help but remember that same feeling on here after Cal's Memphis team punked Tubby's last UK team in Maui. That's when the light went on for a majority that UK needed a new coach. IU is at that point.

When you have guys from the IU fanbase that swears Brad from the Celtics is just waiting to coach IU, those 2 just won't make them happy. Gregg Marshall is a great coach. I just wonder ifthat dude could recruit at the level it would take to turn IU around again? I don't know. I think Archie Miller is a really good coach and would recruit well enough and with IU backing him, might surprise a lot of people in recruiting. It's always easier to recruit at a power school. I like both of your suggestions, but not sure the IU fans would like either of those guys. They are going to be destroyed once they figure out the fact Brad aint leaving the NBA for IU or any school anytime soon. Maybe 10 years from now he might consider it, not now.
Unoriginally enough, a number of fans over there mention Mark Few. Seems legit, trading eastern WA for Cornfield U.
