Its scary to think about injecting a great RB into this already potent offense

We should be 4-0 headed to Ole Miss when CRod returns.
He should be fresh and ready to go.
He will need a little over 1,100 yds to become UKs all time leading rusher.
If UK makes the SEC Champ game and the National Title game that would give CRod a shot at not only playing in 11 games but also a shot at the record!

Is this offense potent?

We scored 26 pts vs. UF. 7 by Keidron Smith and another 7 was set up on 6 yard line by D. So we could argue the offense only score 1 TD (Dane Key ball) and 2 FG.

I think the O improves as the Oline jells and CRod will help a good bit....but the OLine will be a weakness all year I fear and we'll be TO prone at times with pressure all up on the QB so much.

Yes, it will be a much needed addition to our "potent" offense, which is averaging 1.9 yards per rush.

Yeah, I figured you guys would blast me for using the word potent to describe our O right now and its probably justified.

However, at this particular moment in time:

By midway in the 2nd half, I was feeling the same way I felt for much of 2018. Our defense is stout and we don't need 40 points per game to win a lot. Give WL a bit more time, OL keeps improving and we'll see solid offensive numbers. I'm feeling like we don't have to be great but the potential on offense is there, imo. CRod will help, of course, but we've got a lot of weapons. Won't have to rely on him as much as we have previously. He's such a weapon that teams have to plan for him which should only help the PA game.

I would not call us even close to potent, yet...

I'm not ready to declare us an SEC East threat, or even 10 wins yet, but I'm pretty encouraged by the offense so far. We're finally utilizing the tight ends and Key and Magwood have emerged as nice options. If anything, C-Rod's return will make play action a lot more effective.

It's up to Levis and the O-line for this offense to reach the next level. I was watching Van Hiles' Florida breakdown the other night and he showed a play where Levis locked into his primary receiver and threw an incompletion into heavy coverage while Bates was running free up the seam. Would've been a huge gain if not a TD. Scangarello was pointing when Levis walked over to the sidelines because he saw it too.

Levis still makes questionable reads and will make some bad throws because he thinks he can get away with them with his arm strength. But even two games into the season I like how balanced we're becoming in the passing game. I thought Scangarello was blowing smoke when he was hyping the TEs and WRs heading into the year but it looks like he wasn't.

Is this offense potent

Definitely not potent but definitely high potential. Levis is still missing reads and not sliding in the pocket (but getting better), OL are right on the verge; and the rbs are missing holes and cutbacks that crod normally sees.

This offense could certainly be potent if we can get it all together

Already potent? We rank #189 in total offense. You need to stay on the hoops board. Oh wait … you’re clueless there too.

Maybe not yet. But the season is young and so many of our players are young. The future is bright and I am already enjoying this team. I expect they grow with each game.
@HerrosHeroes tends to use a lot of hyperbole :) Nothing wrong with fans seeing life through blue-tinted glasses.

Our offense is currently more efficient than it is potent. CRod will certainly help it take some steps forward. I agree with @Sawnee Cat that the future is bright and there's ALOT of talent! I'm hoping the OL develops a good 6-7 man rotation over next few games. We ran the ball well the 2nd half, but it required a lot of 12 & 13 personnel. (2 & 3 TE's) To Scangarello's credit, he schemed up ways to run the ball. However, those personnel groupings take a lot of our playmakers off the field. I want to see us be able to run the ball with 1 TE in the game.

This team has a lot of potential. To OP's point, adding CRod takes us to another level. Coaches have a lot of options.

It’s not that I care. I take it how we get it, and any win against Florida on the road is a good win.

Having said that as a former player and coach I see a ton of holes on the offensive side of the ball. Napier isn’t a good play caller at all, he’s all recruiting. It’s going to be harder to beat guys like Kiffin and Smart, even Chumlee. Levi’s has got to get to the point where he can take care of the ball and make better reads to his receivers. He locks on too much too long.

But one thing about Stoops’ teams is they play up and down. So anything can happen but our offense is far, far, from a product who could be NY6 imo.

We are starting 2-3 freshmen and a transfer on the O-line. They will keep getting better as the season progresses. We are in better shape than I even hoped we would be at WR, given all the newcomers/freshmen there. Now we're getting the best RB in the SEC back, to go with one of the top QBs in the nation.

And dont forget our TE room! Its as big as a family room!
