It's gonna be Duke or Auburn

Everyone think Tennessee won thier super bowl last night and let's Houston take the region.
I spoke to my brother who lives east of Knoxville, retired from Oak Ridge National Laboratory, home of the two nuclear bombs that ended WWII. He called me to rub the loss in a little. He is tied by friendship to a professor at TN and he said they expected to beat us and their biggest fear was the players were looking past us. If this is true they did not view us as a super bowl. I think the local media did but Barnes biggest concern was his kids looking past us. I hope Houston can run them out of the gym but rumor out of Knoxville is they feel confident and they had the easiest path to get to their first final four.

UT did not look past us man. That is just stupid. No offense.

They feel like a team of Destiney to me. They rebound and have clutch shooters. Someone is gonna have to bury them to beat them. Kinda like we did at Rupp just keep scoring.
And they have the team size at the 3 and 4 spot to matchup w Duke…. Big reason I didn’t want to see TTU finish that upset. UF matches up w Duke, TTU would be outgunned

They always do... it's ridiculous how easy for them to remain at the top while we struggle to just stay healthy and win anything past 1st or second weekend. I'm sure Mark will cook up another good team next year but pay to play isn't helping us like it did Duke.

Auburn has the better team tomorrow. They also have Pearl who could **** up a 1 car funeral procession. His move yesterday to insert Chaney Johnson early in 2nd Half instead of Dylan Cardwell almost cost him the game-luckily for him--Broome screamed at him to put Cardwell in the game and they went on to dominate. He also let Pettiford rock and quit trying to coach. Credit to the oft criticized (by me) Denver Jones for stepping up and playing well. He usually joins Chaney Johnson in the suckfest when Auburn is bad. Chaney held up more than his end-with 2 dropped pass turnovers that would've been wide open dunks/layups. But he "practices harder than anyone" according to Pearl. This isn't the time for the guys who do crap when it doesn't matter-it's time to play the guys who impact games when you lace them up and Arena is rocking/popcorn popping.....and lights are on.

Izzo's team will play tough as hell but this is actually one of the few NCAA games where Broome should dominate the matchup from jump. Izzo's goons are just big trolls who hack. Broome's had to face Kalkbrenner and Goldin back to back and they can make you less efficient but he played a damn good game Friday.

TN has to like one thing about the Houston Matchup-the game will be played on terms they love. Now I feel same about UH. I like UH's trio of guards more than Vols and don't trust Zakai Ziegler in a big game. That being said-my concern is Okpara has a big impact on the game with his length/shot blocking to negate Roberts/Francis. First team to 40 pts wins. This has 55-53 type of vibe to me. Hope not as I can't stand rock fights at this level of the NCAA Tournament.

Good analysis. What your take on Florida? They have more big bodies than anyone and their guards are tough. Their defense scheme is suspect at times. It’s almost like their coach needs confirmation several times in game before he makes adjustments .

I am thinking 3 SEC teams and Duke so the crowd will be hostile.

Who is better matched against Duke TN or Houston? Tn beat them 2 years ago , Houston lost last year . So there is some payback there.

I think UH backcourt would be tougher against Duke as a collective but I don't like their frontcourt in that matchup at all. TN--I think could bang a bit-but Duke would beat them by 15/20 due to the size advantage and skill. I think they'd beat UH worse due to the frontcourt domination.

UF is the only team I could see beating Duke remaining. If Will Richard is making 3's--UF is almost unbeatable. Think UF going through this for the first time as a Staff/Team has played in spurts/and needs to cut their analytic subbing which almost cost them the game when they had rallied to take the lead-then were caught with Clayton sitting/fell behind 10 pts. It was brutal in terms of rotation mistake and can't happen.

The one thing about UF-they'd be the one team of the field that has a ton of size to matchup with Duke and their perimeter guys are better than anyone Duke's faced all year. They are my only hope to beat Duke of the remaining teams.
