I look for UK to jump into the top 20 today at #19 and with the bye, to stay there!

In 1951 it was #9 UK losing to v #1 UT 28-0
Its time to revenge that !!!

UK has never defeated UT in the AP poll ERA (circa 1936) when both are top 20, only played under those circumstances twice, 1951 and 1950.

Stoops the Streak Buster says hold my beer!

#18 in coach's poll, with AP still to go. Could possibly even move up another few spots depending on other teams losing in front of us. Would love for it to be a top 15 matchup, but that's probably a bit ambitious.

My dad attended the 1950 game, UK was undefeated, but a huge snow storm hit the day before the game, he told me there was ice caked on the bleachers, and naturally, UT won 7-0, Cats only loss that year.

Of course, UT being UT, even 70 years ago, while leaving some Vol fan poured it on and told him that Kentucky "better show up with more than two damn ballplayers (Parilli and Bob Gain) if you expect to beat the General (Coach Neyland)"

IIRC, Kentucky NEVER scored a damn point the three years that Parilli played QB, amazing really.

Maybe this is the yr UK beats them with both teams in the top 20.

I'm pretty certain the snow began falling on Thanksgiving Day. My Dad told me it hit mid day/late afternoon in Kentucky and Tennessee. Two of my old-timer friends who were in Knoxville said it hit in the second half.

It was a massive snow. Young men were given shovels to help the trains get back through mountain passes between Knoxville and Lexington on the trip home . . . including a good friend of mine still living in my hometown. He was like 19 years old, and also attended the Sugar Bowl against Oklahoma.

A Greyhound bus was stranded for more than a week in my hometown, folks having to take in strangers to let them eat/survive.

In farm country, snow drifted to the heights of our farm fence posts.
