It took 12 hours to play 4 games? Are you freaking serious?

Games started at 1:00 PM yesterday afternoon and ended around 1:00 AM this morning with only 1 game going past regulation. That also didn't even allow for the normal allotted time between the afternoon and evening sessions. That is insane and the NCAA is going to have to do something.

It’s a season of “ foul all you can “ because they won’t call them . This is what you get . Last nights game didn’t even resemble basketball , it was rugby . They looked like a Texas A and M team . They tried to beat us into submission.

This is the exact reason you won't see success in the NCAA tournament from the SEC this year. They allow this rugby ball to get to a point where they have injuries and then have to call a billion whistles in the 2nd half, bogging down the game. Then you get to our game and because it's starting at 10:45 est they basically allow bully ball all game. No other league is officiated this way. It's completely asinine

Outlaw overtime.

Also the tournament started at noon and ended at midnight. I know you East coast elite think the world revolves around New York City. But real red blooded Americans live in the middle of the country like Austin, Chicago, or Nashville where the tournament is held.
Not sure about "real red blooded", but stats don't lie lol

US Population Statistics:

Eastern Time Zone has 47.6%, the Central Time Zone has 29.1%, the Mountain Time Zone has 6.7%, and the Pacific Time Zone has 16.6%

I'm feeling it today, the team must too.

about the amount of fouls: A couple or more years ago they got to where freedom of movement was being emphasized and we had just exited an era where SEC and basketball in general had gotten really physical with low scores and such.

Now we are right back to it being physical muggings allowed kind of in a different way. In my opinion the refs want it as physical as possible because it allows there to be a foul every play that they can call to influence the game towards where their bets are. Just my opinion, refs are crooked as hell. Once the pressure builds again maybe there will be a call for "freedom of Movement" again.

They have to get the number of fouls called on 3 point shots under control. I bet I saw 15 or more called during yesterdays games and prior to the rule change there would be 1 per game if that.

Thanks for those stats. That is interesting. Central time has a lot of sparsely populated states n it despite making up a decent chunk of country land space.

When I think of "reb blooded Americans", I don't picture Chicago and Austin (or apparently soon to be Nashville). Furthermore, no SEC decision makers probably give a hill of beans what NYC thinks.

Actually this is how the Big East has been officiated since it's inception. It's often why they flourish in the NCAA's--they don't have to go through the hand to hand combat BS when March hits but if it does happen, they know how to play through it. I look at the success the conference has had outside the SEC this yr and one of the reasons is they get to play basketball, not endure MMA matches within the sport. I expect the top tier of the SEC to do well and will cheer against Buzz Williams anytime I get. I've hated his style and approach since he was at Marquette and it only grows with each passing 3 hr game.

Thing about Buzz-if you look past the endurance contests, he actually is a horrible in game coach. I'd say he cost Aggies the game yesterday with his senseless timeouts and that sequence late in 1st OT where he called a timeout up 4---his guy hit the 3 after the timeout and with 9 on the shot clock-he called for a sideline lob play that was picked off was the game--Texas went on a 4-0 run--forced Double OT and that low life, flopping, piece of crap Wade Taylor IV actually tried to shoot rather than dribble and grab/fall into a defender was the highlight of the loss. Draw something up on the whiteboard after your stupid TO rat bastard!

My morning alarm goes off at 5:30. I had to turn it off at halftime so I could get a decent night’s sleep. Pretty insane that the opening tip was an hour and 15 minutes behind schedule.
I went to sleep with about 15 minutes to go then my body punished me and I was awake from 3:30 to 5am. Gonna be a loooong day at the office.

You know........I'm seeing a bunch of conflicting things whenever people on air or here talk about the SEC.

Some complain because they "aren't calling fouls"........they are "letting them play".

Which is completely false. The SEC is consistently the top among power conference teams in foul rate. If anything, they call too many fouls. Which is why these games take 100 hours to complete.

Are SEC teams just more physical? Do they try to draw contact more than others? Are the refs calling it different? Why did this happen and has consistently been happening for the greater part of a decade now?

The reason the UK game got delayed tonight was because of the afternoon session. It wasn't even about the game right before UK. That should have never happened even factoring in a 2 OT game. The Big East, B10, B12 and ACC tournaments did not run into this issue.

I fell asleep and woke up at the very end when Pope and Oweh were interviewed. I would've only had 4 hours of sleep for work today if I decided to stay up. I missed both games against Oklahoma because of this bullshit. I have no clue what the SEC is thinking besides losing potential UK viewers.

We had at least 5 official reviews in our game, and by all accounts (current rules) there should have been at least 4-5 more.

When you have a sport that has 40 minutes of live action and it's taking well over 2 hours to play a game, you've got a problem. College basketball has become almost unwatchable and needs a rules and officiating overhaul.
