It all comes down to the Freshmen + 2

I predict the freshmen will be very good not transcendent. Like most Cal teams they will go through November-February growing pains and lose 7-8 games. That's if no one gets injured or transfers. I say we make it to the Sweet 16.
I try to stay pretty positive. But if it is just freshman plus the two sophomore’s then they’ll lose more than 7 or 8 games. I’d say at least 12-13 minimum

Perfectly reasonable to expect all those things to happen..

And if they don't, with all the talent that he let go to other teams in this class then he should be fired.

What ever happened to BCG anyway, too bad he isn't available.

I agree this is it for him. If the boosters don't have his back for NIL that is telling. It is very likely win or leave Lex.

I know they are Freshmen, but I am trying to be positive, the other times we had three guys ranked as high as Edwards, Bradshaw, and Wagner we went to the title game both years. We had AD, MKG, and Teague in 2012. We had Randle and the Twins in 2014.

This trio is ranked higher than Fox, Monk, and Bam.

It’s higher than Boston, Clarke, and Jackson.

It’s even higher than Knight, Kanter, and Jones (which of course never played together).

I think if they turned out to be as good Randle and the Twins, we should be really happy.

Just trying to be positive through all of this.

Agree on the loss count. No clue how anyone can think this is a 7-8 loss team. It was a battle going 12-6 last year in the SEC alone. A team of freshmen will be fortunate to finish .500 in league play. This is a bubble team at best and my guess they will be NIT bound.

Yep. And I don’t think it’s right to compare them to the Randle Class that had 8 freshman. That team lost double digit games too btw. But that team also had 5 of the top 10. And their physical makeup was much different than this class. Those guys were not built like Freshmen. Randle was a beast. Dakari was as well. But even the Harrison’s and Young were over 200lbs as freshmen. Dillingham and Wagner and even Edwards aren’t 200 or even that close. Hell Bradshaw at 7’ is barely 200 lol

Starting 5 might be good to great. The subbing and depth could be a huge concern like it has been for several years.

Very likely an all frosh starters. That is very likely to produce lots of mistakes. Especially on the road. I am personally not expecting much. I certainly hope to be wrong.
