It’s time we stop talking about CRod as the best RB in UK history

Funny thing is if you assume that Chris had the same number of Carries to this point in each players career Crod would have 1,600+ more yards overall. Assuming Chris averages his career average for those Runs. Benny did amazing things here, but his record is much more a product of volume that Chris’s will be if he breaks it.

The numbers say otherwise
So does the game film. So does my eye test. Benny Snell is the best back I’ve saw at Kentucky in my 47 years. Now before that there could be better, not since. Absolutely love Chris though and man he’s a monster. They guy is unbelievable and I hope we keep feeding him the rest of the season like we did last night. I’d love for him to leave no doubt in two weeks because that would go along way to beat Tennessee. Let’s go

Hard to compare c-rod and Benny because the teams are so different and play calling is completely different.

I appreciate both of their greatness and am glad they both wore the blue and white.

I would give my slight edge to Benny.

When Benny was here our offense was one-dimensional. Outside of the year we had Badet we didn’t have a receiver you couldn’t cover in man defense or a qb that was elite to beat a good zone. How many 8-9 line fronts did Benny face compared to C-Rod?

Anyone calling Benny overrated I assume has a personal issue with him though, he played 3 years and has how many records for Kentucky?

CRod is a grown ass man right now. And it’s nice to see him earn the respect after a rough ass off season. He’s shown he’s come to work and I’m here for it. It’s fantastic to see. I’m glad he’s putting in the effort because it would’ve been easy to say “eff it” after the rough summer he had.

CRod will play somewhere on Sundays. May not be the star but he will be the kind of back that will get his and get his team out of rough spots.

Maybe I'm a habitual worrier, but who do we get to replace him or Levis next year? We have no one on the roster that can break tackles like C Rod.
If the OL improves, the RBs will be more productive. It's funny how that works. I strongly feel Kiyaunta Goodwin's and John Young's development are huge keys for next year's UK football team.

The production numbers lean towards Rodriguez:

Snell avg yards per carry: 2016 - 5.9yds; 2017 - 5.1yds; 2018 - 5yds. That's 5.3yds for his career.

Rodriguez avg yards per carry: 2019 - 7.5yds; 2020 - 6.6yds; 2021 - 6.1yds; 2022 - 4.8.

For comparing total yards you gotta keep in mind that Rodriguez only got 9 or more carries in three games in 2019. He played in every game but in most he was third string 0 - 6 carries. Also, 2020 was the COVID year when only 10 games were played and against all-SEC comp so couldn't pad his stats vs MAC teams. And, he was suspended for four games this season.

Snell had 737 carries in his career. Rodriguez only has 458 carries. Even assuming Chris gets averages 20 carries per game for the next five games he'd STILL be 180 carries short of Snell. The fact he's even threatening his all-time rushing record given that should say something.

CRod's stats may look a little better, but Benny spent his career with QBs that couldn't pass and an offense that couldn't pass. I think BS's value to UK's modern football program can't be measured with yards and attempts.

It’s All about time of possession in Knoxville, they want a track meet, Kentucky wants a physical slug fest/rock fight and minimize possessions

UK need 38 minutes minimum TOP

Hooker would be carrying water for Levis. Hooker is a system QB and the next Akili Smith.

Hooker will be sitting by his phone at home watching Levis go in the top five.
Yeah the current Heisman front-runner would be carrying water for someone who has “measurables” and nothing else. Lmao delusional as usual.

These Tennessee fans posting in this thread exemplify why all the SEC schools hate Tennessee. I can't remember who said it , but they said " Tennessee has the attitude of Alabama, but the trophy case of Vanderbilt "
LMAO and your trophy case has WHAT in it in terms of football compared to Tennessee? The only comparable school to us historically in the SEC is Bama. It damn sure isn’t this poverty program known as Kensucky.

Hooker will disappear into the dust bin of football history. A system QB that has absolutely nothing unique to offer any NFL team.

Levis will play on Sundays for a long time. Maybe Hooker will be the sideline reporter for some of Levis’ NFL games, I think that’s the best he can hope for.

Glad you asked, over the last four years, four more trophies after four straight bowl wins, including a Citrus Bowl trophy from last year while you bumpkins lost to Purdue…lol. Any other dumb questions?

Purdue!

Not as bad as losing to Georgia State and BYU though.

Bringing up losses from 3 years ago when we’re currently ranked #3 in the nation is such a poverty program move. I don’t expect anything different from Kentucky fans, though.

BUT, since we’re talking about Citrus Bowl trophies (lmao) we have more than our fair share of those. Glad to see you’re meeting one of our milestones over 20 years later. Win a Natty like we have then come talk to me about historical achievements.

Also, 82-26-9. Nuff said really.

Tennessee is not “comparable“ to Alabama in any way historically, whatsoever. I realize you are dealing with some things in your personal life but damn son.

In addition to Alabama…Georgia, LSU and Florida are your betters. A case can be made for Auburn as well.

We beat the reigning best QB in college football just yesterday, and he’s lightyears ahead of Levis. There is nothing about Levis that concerns me whatsoever.

You guys have sucked ass and the only program with a big of a fall has been Nebraska. Your program has been a national joke and every fanbase will tell you Tennessee is the worst of the worst. Everyone hates you and you’re a known loser, so don’t try the nonsense that it’s because you win.

Bunch of idiots pumping your chest because you beat Bama for the first time since 2006 LMAO. Stormed the field. Carry your ass back to that redneck board and pretend people care. You look like an idiot all of you do.

Except, historically… They’re not our betters. Some of them (LSU & Florida) aren’t even close.

Benny had 3873 yards 48 freaking TDs is insanely good. 5.4 yards a carry on 737 rushes

Crod 3134 yards 30 TDs on 418 rushes but rhe 6.4 yards a carry is insanely good …especially for a kid who doesn’t break huge runs

My take away is Crod is 2nd best Rb behind Benny. I hope her gets rushes to surpass Mo Williams and Sonny Collins. It was sort of silly to watching AJ Rose take so many rushes from Crod his first two years. Benny TDs is nearly impossible to comprehend but he also carried the program with his attitude and we had some crap defenses that he carried Uk to winning

But it’s been a joy to watch both at Uk in Stoops era
Your stats tell me the opposite. CRod is a whole yard per carry better than Benny. Their carries per TD are very close, Benny is slightly better. Both are way better than Sonny in these stats.

Benny looks superior only due to usage which included scoring. In CRods best 2 years, we had many more scoring options. CRod is also significantly faster than Benny. I'll take the extra speed and extra 1 ypc from CRod EVERY SINGLE TIME.

Even during our absolute WORST years, we have absolutely owned Kentucky.
