It’s been 25 years since the Big Ten won a national championship, and Tom Izzo says the criticism is ‘fair’

Izzo would be long gone anywhere else more than likely.

Michigan state isn't some powerhouse program. 1 title and 8 final fours in 30 years isn't amazing but they have lower expectations. He hasn't had a good team since 2019 (sound familiar?) So I agree he should have retired by now.

The 8 final fours are fairly impressive but he has only made title game twice. His resume would be a lot better if he won a 2nd title (again. Sounds familiar).

Always wondered why they are in the “Champions Classic”. One title. Lulz

My rule of thumb come March, pick most B10 teams to lose before the second weekend of NCAAT.

Outside of Michigan football last year the Big Ten in general sucks ass. They haven’t won barely anything the 2 major sports in the last 25 years considering the money they generate and the pull they have.
In the last 25 years in college athletics 2 major sports, football & men's basketball combined the Big10 has won a grand total of only 4 national championships 1 in basketball & 3 in football. That's only 4 national championships out of 50.

Compare that to the SEC. In football & men's basketball combined over the last 25 years The SEC has won 17 national championships. 3 in men's basketball & 14 in football. That's more than 4x what the Big10 has won.

We've been hearing that there are going to be two 20 team super conferences, the SEC & the Big10. There might be two 20 team conferences, but there will be only 1 super conference & that's the SEC.

SEC is going on about 12. Before that if not for Billy D it’d have been another over decade stretch.
The entire Big Ten has won one title since the 1980s. The SEC has won six in that time. Kentucky alone has won 3 times as many as the entire Big Ten Confetence since the start of the 1990s. Any comparison of conferences in what could be considered recent history is absurdly in favor of the SEC.

Yeah, were living in some glass houses. In that 12 years, Big 10 had been in three championship games, and SEC in one.

How are we living in glass houses when we have more titles in multiples than the Big Ten? We’re talking championships here. Add in football and the SEC has absolutely obliterated the overrated Big Ten.
