Isaiah Jackson workout....

We have exactly two recruits that will make a big impact next year and Jackson isn’t one. He will have about the same impact that Brooks had this year. While we certainly need more than that from him, im fine with it as long as he’s here 2-3 years. Posters hyping next years team up are irresponsible and will be the reason fans turn on the team so quick when they come out struggling.

Same ones hyping Jackson are the same ones this time last year saying Whitney was gonna be a top 10 pick and SEC POY. [laughing]

I actually never thought Whitney would be as good as most here thought. Of course i though he’d be better than what he was though. I think Fletcher is in the same mold as Whitney.

The sad part is these players being what they are would be fine if they came to UK with mindset of most all other kids, being there 3-4 years. But most bolt year 1 if they aren’t doing everything they want. Fans would also be WAYYY more lenient on players who underperform their first year if they knew they were going to be here 3-4 years. Problem is we know we only have them 1-2 years tops and have to get the most possible out of them in that time frame.

Because I compared him to a recruit? OK grumpy old man, change your depends and take a nap if you can't handle a comparison on a message board.

LOL didn't really mean to hurt your feelings, hope you can recover.

Maybe your mom with make you some animal shaped pancakes this morning.

You definitely are a child throwing a tantrum.
Umm, you started with me calling me a moron because I dared to compare a recruit to Marcus Lee. I can see the Alzheimers is starting to set in.

I know this is gonna be hard to answer when you just want to argue, but who would you compare Isaiah Jackson to? I feel like thats a better way to discuss this. Just say "I disagree, I think he's more like player X." That beats being a dick and just wanting to argue.

He's going to be good...but all of these bigs are great going against smaller and slower guys in high school. It takes time to develop that game at the next level.

"He's our best big since...." We get great bigs every year and they all are top prospects with great highlight tapes.

The last great big we got who came in and performed on day 1 was Bam. PJ developed over time. Vanderbilt would've been great IMO had he been healthy.

I've not really seen anyone hyping Jackson. I've seen some say he could shoot pretty good out to about 15 feet. I've also seen some say he was really quick off his feet and a great shot blocker (Jerry M.). I'm not sure what you call a big impact but I feel Jackson will provide more than what Brooks did last year. These bouncy kids, like Jackson, can do things that some heavier kids can't. I don't think he'll be Bam but I could see him being on a Nerlens level. I know, I know, Nerlens was taller but I see the impact being similar.

Come on keep up kid I called you ignorant. Moron is reserved for later.

I'd be shocked if Jackson isn't a one and done . Kinda funny how people don't get how good the kid is . I mean he is wayyyy better then the other 2 forwards we have committed . Jackson will shine as Haarms back up ( or whoever we get to start at the 5 ) and also when we go big at the 4 . I get people not wanting to toot the horn of Ware and even in some aspects Fletcher ( though he is going to have a game or next year where he gets 10/10/5 ) but Jackson would be the center piece of most any other team's recruiting class and is a top 20 recruit.

So I clicked on this thread thinking wow a bunch of people are talking about Jackson. Naturally I expected to get some takes on his abilities considering this is a UK basketball forum...Then I find it’s pretty much 2 people bitching at each other. Can we please move on and not attack each other for our opinions.

If he had the Summer at Kentucky’s facilities to get up to about 215 to 220. I would feel much better about him being an immediate impact player. Where he is now I believe it will take him a while to adjust.

“Whitney will be our best player and a guaranteed lottery pick. Keldon is leaving because he knows he’d play backup to Whitney”

^ that was you before last season started and you made fun of and bashed those who disagreed or
questioned.
I get the enthusiasm but chill with the lofty expectations my fellow UK brethren.

Looks like he has a better handle and stroke than Marcus. We need him to rebound, block shots and hit 15 footers. If he can pass out of a double that will be a big plus as well.

I agree to temper expectations bc this has gotten out of hand. BUT, there have been multiple recruiting analysts say he is the most underrated frontcourt player in the class and has some of the best defensive attributes they've seen since scouting players.

He really needs to add weight and strength or he will get beat up in the SEC next season.

He does look to have great bounce. I have heard he is a very good defensive player. His stroke looks good but he will not get to shoot basically set shots off the elbow or in corner in college very often. Those just dont happen with all the size that will be guarding him. You can tell his ball skills need alot of work, and he will have to get stronger (but that is the case with most frosh). He does seem to have a ton of bounce and I am looking forward to seeing him play. I want to say cant wait to see him year two, but these days there is no guarantee of that.

Why don’t both of y’all shut up and go menstruate with each other via PM’s lol?

Neither of you are going to change the others mind. What’s the point?
He didn't have a point or an opinion. He just called me ignorant for comparing Isaiah Jackson to Marcus Lee coming out of HS. Sorry but I'm not playing the attack someone then be a victim game Cats Illustrated posters love so much.

Amazes me how many kids are taught that one legged Dirk fade jumper. It's a staple in basketball now I guess because it creates separation and is deadly of course.
I incorporated that shot into my game in the late 70's, having learned it from Dave "Red" Farmer, of Jessietown, KY fame.

Lol well he’ll definitely have at least more opportunity than Keion did as he’s looking at a starting role at least right now.

Marcus Lee would have been a pretty good player if he didn't foul so much. If Jackson ends up as a Lee clone except with 2/3rds the foul rate, he'd be outstanding for a freshman.

I think this is right. And I think it's impossible to know how good these guys will be right away. Maybe some of these guys will actually be more productive and ready to contribute because they're more than just athletes. Maybe they have more fundamental skill that can be leveraged. I agree a lot of the challenges have been due to the fact we've needed these guys to be really good RIGHT NOW.

I really hope you’re right but I’m afraid he’s just a bit better version of Marcus Lee.

I like Jackson, but he needs to add some muscle.

He is also limited on the offensive end.

I think he will be okay defensively, if he can protect the rim as expected.

I would like to see him stick around for 2-3 seasons and get stronger and improve his offensive game.
