2 agree 100%, but the hype was not justified. We might be a top 25 football team, but I’m not sure. We are a decent team, but certainly nowhere near an excellent team. Too many deficiencies. With the preseason hype, it is an easy yes.

If you have lived through the last 60 years of UK football then this season is not even close. As for me based on preseason expectations, who saw my first UK football game in 1959, the answer is unquestionably, YES
I have lived through the last 60 plus years of UK football. The expectations for this year’s football team were higher than ever. Even this board was heavily populated with predictions about winning the SEC East, going 10-2 and maybe 11–1 during the regular sEason. I’ve been disappointed many times as regards my preseason expectations for UK football success to the point I stopped allowing myself to have any expectations. This year, based on recent football success and who we had coming back along with the super talented freshmen, I really thought this would be a special year.If you have lived through the last 60 years of UK football then this season is not even close.
So why make a poll if you are just going to argue with opinions that aren't the same as yours?I have lived through the last 60 plus years of UK football. This has been a disappointing season. But, the MOST DISAPPOINTING season of a lifetime? You have got to be kidding. Very short memory there, man. Very short. As for me based on preseason expectations, who saw my first UK football game in 1959, the answer is unquestionably, YES
2007 is the most disappointing. Gave two of the most iconic moments since I’ve watched but were way too talented to have lost five games.Due to expectation yes I’d say so. The 2007 team should have been better than 7-5, too.
I agree. The 2007 team didn't have the hype or respect in the pre-season that this team had. We didn't get noticed until we beat UofL in the opener. We lost some heartbreakers that year to go along with beating the #1 team(LSU).Why? Going into the season the expectations weren’t winning the sec east or coming close. If this isn’t the most disappointing season then idk wtf to tell you. Never have expectations been so high then we lose to a vandy team that hadn’t won and sec game in what 25 tries. Lmao!
No Jokers final yearAs for me based on preseason expectations, who saw my first UK football game in 1959, the answer is unquestionably, YES
LOL! Stoops has not "underproduced". If you believe that, you have a very short memory and a complete lack of perspective.Yet Stoops gets a massive raise, must be nice to underproduce at work and get a raise
Apparently, you failed to notice this is a message board where contrary opinions are offered, expected and solicited. Creating a poll doesn’t change this reality. People do have different opinions you know. A poll helps to draws out differing opinions which was my intent. Then we can discuss our respective opinions. It is my personal opinion that because fan expectations (mine) were higher than ever for an unusually good year prior to the start of the season , that the football team’s performance, or lack thereof this season is the most disappointing (to me). Obviously, people are free to disagree. I’m interested in what they have to say. In this particular response I was responding to a post from Kycat 78 that opined this season, disappointment wise, was not even close to being the most disappointing season in the last 60 years. That’s his opinion. I simply disagreed with it. UK has, to be sure, had many worse years where it didn’t win 6 games but in terms of “disappointment” this was the worst for me because expectations for a super year were so high and not realizedSo why make a poll if you are just going to argue with opinions that aren't the same as yours?
Yes, I should have clarified and emphasized in the poll question, “based on preseason expectations is this the most disappointing season of your lifetime?“. I really thought based on who we had coming back, a projected first round or even first pick in the NFL draft quarterback, one of the best running backs in the nation, an outstanding receiving corps and more purported depth of talent than UK has had in years that, UK had a legitimate shot for a special season, (10-2 , 11-1 in regular season play). Maybe I misperceived our talent level but expectations are expectations and I allowed myself, for the first time I’m decades, to have expectations for an outstanding year when it came to UK football.
Good points. I agree. Until they put my ashes in Camp Nelson National Cemetery, I can live with bowl eligible seasons, 6 wins. I’m greatly disappointed this year but I’ve suffered through enough bad football seasons to appreciate the context of simply winning 6 or more games a year which has only happened 37.5% of the time since I was born in 1950. .While I understand the point, this is the first year I ever experienced having high expectations as a UK fan.
Yes it's disappointing but also some context is important. OL has struggled, QB is injured and play is inconsistent, and every sec team on our schedule played their best game of the year (except Georgia).
Stoops is at his best motivating his team when they're the underdog. This year was a different animal because we were just as hunted as most of the teams in the sec. Stoops needs to find a way to motivate while prospering, which is something he really lacks so far.
So yes I am disappointed considering expectations. But I can sure get used to having such lofty expectations when I spent most of my life praying for 6 wins, knowing we'd be embarrassed most every non vandy sec game
