Yes, unless somehow we win today and next week. It would still be disappointing, but a monumental upset over Georgia would certainly make it much more bearable and would salvage an otherwise disastrous collapse... as long as we also win next week.

Expectation wise, yes.

If you'd have told me at the beginning of the season UK would be a 22.5 point underdog, at home against Georgia, I would have siad youre crazy.

7-10, maybe 11, sure. 3 TDs. I didn't expect that.

Expectations wise, it is right up there with most disappointing. But, I also have been through so many other really bad seasons it's difficult to say which is most disappointing. But, this year has been near the top if not at the top.

It comes in as a strong second but not the worst. Mumme's last year when Marlon McCree was talking 10-1. Back when the SEC East was actually good - not this water down version that Stoops has made a living off of. Before you got 12th bunny game that has helped Stoops pad his record.

From 10-1 to 2-9, Mumme fired, and probation on its way. That was the worst of my lifetime.

Compared to expectations, maybe. But in general God no, despite under performing expectations this year, by a lot. It's till better than 2 and 10.
Expectations have to be taken into consideration when deciding if this is the most disappointing season. Any year that we go to in 10 but thought we might win three or four games at most is not all that disappointing in retrospect.

From a results vs the pre-season hype I would say yes but being a long time UK football fan I shouldn't have been surprised!

To each their own BUT:

  1. Chris missed the first four games,
  2. Levis is playing at no more than 75%,
  3. No clear top three round NFL Draft talent on this defense from even a single player,
  4. This is one of the worst offensive lines in the country.
All that and the team may still win 7. I've far more disappointed w/ UK football.

Seems like the beginning of the end for this “run” we’ve been on.

It is better than a lot of the seasons I’ve seen but was hoping for something huge this year.

Levis and the O line have been massive disappointments.

Expectation wise, the worst. I sure thought we were better at the first of the season. There is not a particular game this year that disappointed me that much until last week. The Vandy loss gut punched me to the core and took me down to my knees. You bet this is the worst.

Yes, I should have clarified and emphasized in the poll question, “based on preseason expectations is this the most disappointing season of your lifetime?“. I really thought based on who we had coming back, a projected first round or even first pick in the NFL draft quarterback, one of the best running backs in the nation, an outstanding receiving corps and more purported depth of talent than UK has had in years that, UK had a legitimate shot for a special season, (10-2 , 11-1 in regular season play). Maybe I misperceived our talent level but expectations are expectations and I allowed myself, for the first time I’m decades, to have expectations for an outstanding year when it came to UK football.

As sad as this statement may seem, it will largely depend on what happens next week and in the bowl game. Lose both and I can't imagine it being much more disappointing given the expectations for this team. Win both and it will be disappointing but still salvaged. Go 1-1 and it will depend on which is the win and which is the loss.

Why? Going into the season the expectations weren’t winning the sec east or coming close. If this isn’t the most disappointing season then idk wtf to tell you. Never have expectations been so high then we lose to a vandy team that hadn’t won and sec game in what 25 tries. Lmao!
I guess because I didn't believe the hype coming into this season. I am at best cautiously optimistic regarding UK football.

2007, only because we were sitting at 5-1 after beating LSU and had a bunch of future pros. Tamme, Burton, Johnson, Jarmon, Peters, Woodson, Lindley. Heck, our third string running back (Alphonso Smith) played several years in the NFL. We end up losing to Florida against the Heisman Trophy winner and then had a bunch of injuries in a terrible loss the following week to Mississippi State at home. Then the Tennessee heartbreak.
