Is Kaiya Sheron injured, suspended, or transferring?

No, what Im saying is that if a school like Kentucky played in the Big Ten west we would probably had even better defensive stats than we have now.Defensive ratings are relative to the strength of the offenses you play.No knock on Iowa, they play good defense,The stats I posted were the results of both QB's in their respective starts and a full game of play under their belt. You can draw whatever conclusion from those that you want, but those are the stats in black and white. My opinion is that Sheron should have been given a chance.Yours might be different. In truth both QBs didnt get much help from the Oline.Still, in my opinion, after the second pick six Sheron had done enough in the South Carolina game to have been given a shot.Thats MY opinion. You can have yours but it wont change mine.I watched them both,Sheron is further along at this point IMO, he has been QB2 all year and I cannot understand why he never saw the field.Perhaps you can explain it because if the staff were serious about winning then there is almost no way he would not have.Which brings up another matter, for another time I guess.Doesnt matter really, this season is in the books, but that was a terrible offensive performance all around,THATS IN MY OPINION.WE SUCKED ON OFFENSE,

In truth,if it were not for some just plain drops from our wide receivers which were drive killers Sheron would have easily gone over 200 yards in passing. Not saying he played to the level you would want from a starting QB in the SEC but he did show some promise and the ability to complete passes downfield,Something Wade did NOT show.In fact I believe his stats would have better if the coaches had taken the restrictions off and just let him run the regular offense. My point is that Wade wasnt ready and Sheron should been given an opportunity,I get it, you disagree, thats fine, but IMO its wasnt fair to all the other players who showed up and played their asses off to continue on with Wade when it was obvious that he wasnt ready,Im not saying that Sheron was the answer but we should have at least tried him.The stats are what they are,Draw your own conclusions and make your own opinions,

I’ve known the Sheron family for a long long time. Kaiya didn’t lose his spot, the staff decided to play Wade to appease the family. I am of the personal opinion that he was unfairly treated in this situation, however the staff did get to answer the question and calling from some of the fan base to play Wade for over Kaiya which proved to be what most knew it would be; it was almost just as unfair for Wade to be thrown in there with a short handed staff and roster in front of his home town crowd. Kaiya played with his hands tied up for much of the South Carolina game and still managed to outplay Rattler. Kaiya isn’t nearly as mad about it as some on this site - he seems legitimately excited to play for Coen (who really likes him and his game) and with Leary.

Kaiya will get an opportunity to be a starter here at Kentucky; he’s the hardest worker in the QB room.
I love this post. I don’t know squat but I’m a fan of KS

Wait I thought most of you agreed sheron sucked based on the SC game and everyone wanted to see Wade and hogan get the snaps in the meaningless bowl game to see what we have?
Then that happens and now should’ve played sheron? Some people man.
I think most wanted every QB to get snaps….at the half it was obvious Wade wasn’t getting it done, why not try Sheron in the second? Why did we keep trying the same thing over and over with zero success?

I don’t think most agreed KS sucked - that emphasis was put on the playing calling beginning with tossing the ball to the other team inside the 20 yard line on the first play of the game. From there, it appeared KS was handcuffed and any of hope of seeing Wade was squashed.

The brutal reality is our QBs outside of Leary are not SEC caliber. Sharon's only offer outside of Kentucky was Marshall, and in reality he should be at EKU. Wade was recruited as an athlete and not a quarterback until Wimsatt went to Rutgers. His future is at WR, not QB. Hogan obviously doesn't have the support of the coaching staff.

These are the kind of guys we used to have when Kentucky was getting its head bashed in by SEC teams and winning 3 or 4 games a year. Sadly while the portal recruiting of QBs has been good the recuitment and development of high school qbs has been terrible.

This game was over when Levis opted out. Both Sharon and Wade will never be SEC caliber quarterbacks which is why Wade played so much was to help the staff decide it they needed a backup qb out of the portal. That answer is YES and if they don't our season is over if Leary gets a serious injury.

You’re basing this off of what? An SEC game where he played hamstrung by poor play calling and plagued by drops? Or are you basing this off of him throwing for more yardage than Rattler in that game and two TDs? The best team in the country has a walk on qb that we all have to hear about every time he takes a snap; point is this, we had a body of work on Kaiya, albeit small, and he didn’t do anything to hurt his case for being qb2 with a shot. Kaiya can absolutely be an sec caliber qb if given the opportunity.

Respectfully disagree that he can be an SEC caliber QB. Hope I'm wrong.

I get it. You know Sharon and his family and that clouds your judgement and you will defend him to the hilt. But for people whose objectivity is not clouded by a relationship with the family it is very clear that after two years in the program Sharon is not an SEC QB.

He wasn't heavily recruited and has looked terrible for a player that has been in the program for two years. Did you ever consider the coaches play calling was limited because of Sharons limitations as a QB? At this point I have zero confidence that Sharon can win an SEC game. If he's the QB we're doomed.

There are plenty of objective people on here (of which I am not one I agree) whose opinion is he wasn’t given a fair shake.

Please. He had hardly looked "terrible". That's just silly. In very limited action, he has looked serviceable as a backup. Whether he has starter upside remains to be seen.
