It would seem that it has to be available. I was wondering as so many unknowns about NIL still exist to fans. I'm reading about NIL limits - but is that just from the NCAA and the schools or does it or will it include other NIL payments from other sources. It seems that NIL is going to keep college sports in a heck of a mess until somekind of contractural obligations are put into place. I don't think UK will ever be able to compete under the current unlimited funding and it will definitely ruin the game for many fans and players. It's a gold mine for the players now - but it could end up not being so glorious if fans decide they are not going to go watch their teams get crushed every week with no hope of competing.
The NFL has done a good job - as we see many of the smaller franchises able to compete. It will still come down to many of the basics as to coaching, facilities, possibly (?) educational advantages? It's hard to actually say that now, as the free education is going to be meaningless - but that really is the case now. In reality, why even have any educational requirements - college athletics is truly professional now. Going to class and getting a degree has really become optional - sad in many ways. Why should any school agree to forfeit games, scholarships, etc. - the rules are truly meaningless as of now. UK was stupid agreeing to forfeit any wins - but I guess they really don't mean anything anymore anyway - once the past season no one will care.
