Is Cal's first Team USA coaching stint going be hindered due to terrorism concerns?

Islamic terrorists killed 29 Christians over the weekend. I am puzzled as to why UK and the organizers of the U19 games would hold a tournament in an area that is going through an internal conflict between government troops and Islamic fascists. Unless they have incredible security around them at all times, this really makes no sense to me. There are plenty of other sites that would be much more available and safe, especially, when you are talking about high profile athletes and coaches from high profile universities.

I mean you could take that stance about a lot of things. It's normal for fans to be curious about an injury that was described as nothing, but if not, may keep him out of part of the season.

But you said, "why hide it?"

Who says he's hiding anything? Does he owe us constant updates on his health?

Because certain people want to prove that that part of the world is a safe place and a place of peace. Yeah ok, keep hoarding that fairy dust and riding rainbows.

Constant updates?Actually there haven't been any updates on what the injury actually was.

Ok, you guys be upset about it then. In my opinion, he doesn't owe any of us an explanation.

I understand the speculation. But he's entitled to his privacy.

Someone had said that he thought the reason JV wasn't playing in Egypt was due to the injury and not because of terrorism. That is why I said "why hide it"? I wasn't accusing them. I also asked it previously to explain that while I was a bit suspicious, it wouldn't make sense to be covering up a major injury because it would come out.

Sorry, I misunderstood.

I stated my concern about this the other day in a different thread and was told immediately by some other posters that it's safe and nothing to worry about. In this thread one poster labels those with concerns as pussies. All I say to those people is watch a little news and you will see the concerns are real. The Middle East is dangerous to those from the West and Egypt is one of the worst places. I would prefer that Cal and those in charge of the US teams just cancel this trip simply based on safety for these young guys and the coaches and staff. If that's being a pussy, I can definitely live with that.

I hope enough of the participants parents voice concerns that it is either moved or canceled. And whoever scheduled this in the first place should be fired.

Lots of internet tough talk in this thread but web bravado does nothing to stop a terrorist attack. I have zero faith in Egypts ability to keep these kids secure.
