No he's playing special teams, but not getting any snaps on offense. Guess he's third team behind Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren

You know Za'Darius Smith didn't have much of a career with Baltimore but when he switched teams he had like 30 sacks in 2 years.
Sometimes guys got to get to a new place. Benny is better than special teams. Pittsburgh don't know what they're doing over there 10 years straight.
That franchise hasn't never recovered from starting off 11 and 0 a few years ago and then collapsed. Now they're starting over with Pickett. Pfft.

Tonkin likes bigger more physical running backs. Benny has never had more than a cup of coffee chance there. Running backs in the NFL have a 5 year window of opportunity before they decline. Hope he’s invested wisely. Like to see him get a shot with the Bengals or Dolphins. Not as the starter but a good, tough runner. I think he has a role but it’s not on special teams.
He is a good special team player lol that is his role for the moment and will be the reason if he makes a roster next season. Only a few stars on each team do not play special teams, Benny figured it out and has played out his first contract which is a longer career than most running backs. If Snell makes it for another 2 or 3 years it will because of his special team play and possibility he could fill in at a pinch at a consistent veteran running back. He will play for vet minimum next year thats almost assured on a 1 or 2 year contract .
If he can't make it there, I doubt he makes it at all. Tomlin and the Steelers loved him and seated him higher than he deserved. They were a perfect style and mentality fit.

He's a hardworking, bring it everyday player that coaches love. However, he's slow and never had real burst so his chances of being a consistent RB in the league were slim. There's a reason his nickname is Benny Snail.
But looks like he found a niche and how outlived his prognosis. Hopefully he can keep this rolling as long as possible.

I think he needed this year to draw a full pension after retirement so he’s accomplished a lot more than most.
