Is 9-3 Great/MEH/Disappointing?

If that scenario plays out like that....it means UK is 8-2 going into Georgia week, likely back in top 10, game is on CBS, and the 7 days leading up to Saturday will be a damn pandemonium circus of excitement!

I think his point was in that scenario UGA has already clinched the east, assuming they win out until then. I agree with you that the chance to knock off undefeated uga would be huge regardless.

I think UGA had their scare and their weak schedule won't bother them much until uk.

I really think we knock off one of UT or Georgia. Maybe lose another we should win, but hopefully not. Either 10-2, or 9-3. I’m tickled with either. My gut has been saying we get Georgia all day. But I normally go through a roll of toilet paper every other day, so take it for what it’s worth.

I'll go with a little disappointing. At Tenn and the UGA games were the ones that I had Kentucky losing going into this season.

9-3 was where I was at when the season started. Am I happy with it? No. Am I satisfied by it? Yes.

Winning on the road it hard. Winning on the road in the SEC west is damn near impossible. I never thought they would win at Ole Miss. I didn't expect them to give the game away, however.

Winning at Tennessee is a tall task even when we have a great team. Then you have Georgia. As of right now UK is on the path I figured they would be.

The only thing that really concerns me at this point are the injuries. If they continue to mount then you could easily be looking at 6-6 season.

Right now I want to win every game we play.
I concede nothing. Other than Alabama and Georgia, we are the best team others on our schedule will face. I want 11-1 and a NY bowl game. We control our own destiny. Not a team left on our schedule that we can’t beat. Gotta get a few breaks, don’t beat ourselves and the sky’s the limit.

9 and 3 is great at Kentucky and always will be. There's no shame in that record ever. EVER.
YOU PLAYING IN LEAGUE OF MONSTERS.

You can hope to try to win the east. You hope to try to make that SEC championship.

But reality is 9 and 3 and you don't have a lot of five-star players...... That's top level at 9-3 or better at any school. ANY.
There might be one or two schools that will cost you your job if you go nine and three every year but eventually those schools fall.

You got a coach that can get you 9 and three on average you keep him no matter what.

Stoops wins with three and four star players still to this day. He has had very few five stars.
He does more with three and four than any other coach in this country and that's a 100% million dollar fact.

Give Stoops Georgia or Alabama's talent I don't think he'd ever lose. Ever. You wouldn't score on him. Mark would build a monstrous line and he would just run the ball for 300 yards every game. Lol

I still think we go 8-4…..lose to UGA, UT, and drop 1 more.

I call it a disappointment, first round QB, talented receivers, really good RB, and defense. Not to mention, that would have us losing to every decent team we’ve played.
it is also fair to mention- a new OC and o line coach, new linebackers coach, a new offensive line, coming into the season we had no idea what we had at WR, a rebuilt secondary, we had a couple dudes transfer/get injured who would have played roles, we have true freshmen in the two deep all over the field, unproven RB depth, and to top it off we came into the season with a major distraction hindering us. On paper that is a lot of question marks coming into a new season. 8-4 and above it a great season IMO. That is not excusing losing a game you should win, but I think people need to temper their expectations some

I’d be happy with 9-3. It could be 8-4 with tough games against Miss St and Missouri looming.

To be 100% honest, my goal was 11-1 this season. I really thought and still think we have the best overall talent we’ve had here in my lifetime, 46, and we flat out should’ve won the game against Old Miss. we have the better team and just had a few mistakes that cost us the game. If we play them 10 times we win 8 in my opinion. Anyway, as much as I hate we lost the game, football is a damn hard game to win against any team and I think we’ll probably end up 10-2 by the end of this season. Pretty damn good year if so if you ask me. 9-3 won’t stop me from doubting we’re moving in the right direction as a program, same goes for 8-4. We still have a chance at 11-1 so it’s definitely not over, we’ll just have to get there a different route. I have 100% faith in this group of guys and this staff that they’ll play as hard and as good as they possibly can so I’ll be happy no matter our record. Im just really proud of this program and what we’ve been able to do the last ten years, but im more excited about the next ten years as any time in my life. Thanks and keep the faith with this team because they deserve it. Be proud to be a Kentucky Wildcat fan!! Go Cats.

I was thinking 8-4 or 9-3 this year due to a lot of unknowns. Oline…WRs…DBs…New Coaches…etc.

Then CRod gets suspended.

So reflecting, I wasn’t expecting an undefeated season. IMO if UK can beat UT and goes 9-3 that would be a great season! Win in a bowl would cap it off.

What do others think?
If we can beat UT we have a shot at 11-1, but at least 10-2. If we could make it to the Georgia game with one loss, I will be sitting there in my 86th year with a shot to go to Atlanta. I don't know if we would win, but I would drink a lot of gin and watch it. We need to get there, because I've watched this team since I was a UK student in the 50s and I'm running out of time.

It’s fine. I’m more interested to see if our players can be poached or how the NIL is gonna work. If those things go south we can’t maintain anything anyway past a few more seasons.

Still haven’t had anyone explain this in detail or if it should work out. If Alabama or someone comes after our receiver core and it’s allowed college sports for teams like us……I mean what’s the point?

I’m naturally nervous but these seem to be really valid concerns.
I actually think the transfer portal helps us more than it hurts us, especially if we can compete. If you watched the SEC games this weekend, every team, UK, Missouri, Ole Miss, all of them were announcing players that had transferred from other schools. If Alabama steals our players, we steal theirs. The days of Alabama having a 5 star as a thirds string tackle are over. Those guys aren't going to sit behind other 5 stars. They'd rather transfer to other SEC schools and play. I'm of the mindset that the portal spreads the worth, now let's see who can recruit and coach them up once you get them. We seem to be doing ok with that.

9-3 at minimum or season is a bust. 1st round QB, great receivers and CRod, more offensive weapons than we have had in years.
I really don't understand fans like you. I used to watch my grandson play video games and if he started out bad he re-started the game. I don't understand people that can't enjoy the journey.

We really only have 2 gimmes the rest of the way (Vandy and UofL).

Then we have 2 really difficult games to win (Georgia and UT)

In between those two - we need to win out against USC, MSU and Mizzou to go 9-3. As Kentucky fans we have seen too many seasons filled with disappointment to expect to win those. If we can't get the O-line figured out it could be very disappointing. Then again if we do get the O-line shored up, then we can start to dream again.
I think the OLine is taking too much criticism for Will Levis's and the receivers' mistakes. On Saturday, he had time to throw the ball, he just didn't. Receivers missed blocks on screens. Will held on to the ball too long, but he had time. CRod ran the ball well, he just only played 1/2 of the snaps getting back in gear. Our OLine isn't as bad as everyone is saying they are. As an example, everyone has been criticizing Flax all year, but now worrying about Flax being out and he has been accused of missing more blocks than anyone. But, once you watch the tape, it was really a TE or receiver that screwed up and Flax was following his assignment. We were better than the 14th ranked team in the country last week for almost 3 quarters. A few bounces and we are ranked 5th or 6th, which I've only seen a few times in my long years. Come on, let's get behind this team and quit bitching and criticizing. I hope not, but this might be my last chance.

There’s nothing special about 9-3. We ve been there done that. So 8-4 or 9-3 makes no difference to me. Where the difference is, is to pull off a 10 win regular season. This was the team billed to do it. Please with the “we expected 8-4 9-3). No we didn’t. We went in with potentially a top draft pick at qb and phenom receivers not to mention the beast in crod. That’s not happening again in the near future folks. On top of that we have an improved defense with a stud lb corp and a much better secondary from last year. The dline is no slouch either. The difference is ny6 and a sugar bowl type bid a phenomenal season verses another very good one. Sure at one point great but we moved forward

Levis has to live to fight another day at times. It is some jimmy garropolo taking the sack. Scangarello has to fix it

9-3 is ALWAYS a great year for UK. It would give us an outside shot at NY6 bowl.

I'd really prefer 10-2 (or better), but to me, UK needs to hit 9-3 for the season to be considered a big success (I say this with the win in the swamp already in the bag).

We need to beat Tennessee and have that game vs Georgia be for the Division. With a first round NFL QB i think 10 should be the expectation especially the way the season has shaped out.

Also this year 9-3 probably means we lost every Big time game on the schedule. And while 9-3 is always a good year for UK historically I’d be pretty disappointed in going 0-3 vs the best teams on the schedule.

Florida was a big time game. At Florida, and they were ranked, and, if they beat UK in that game, they'd still be ranked.

This. Key will stay b it I’m concerned Brown will depart for an OSU/Bama/Texas/USC/or god forbid back home tk play at TN.

We need to win the UT game partially to prevent that imo bc I could see a move home and playing in an electric offense as a draw especially with Will leaving next season

We could go six and six as long as we beat Florida ,Tennessee and Louisville.... I'm good.

I literally would take beating those three teams and destroying three cupcakes every year and I would be fine with football

For this Kentucky team during this season, 9-3 would be a tad disappointing. Probably not logical to think so, considering we’ve won 10 games twice in god knows how long.

But with the momentum continuing to build, having a star at QB and an elite defense, I was cautiously optimistic we could make it to Atlanta. Doesn’t seem like that will happen at this point with the loss at Ole Miss. That in itself is a tad deflating.

Best QB will have had for a while , a total stud RB , returning a bunch on D .. and so many are happy with 9-3 and pretend we are just " building for the future" The future is now , win the games you should win .. win 2 out of the 4 with Flor, Ole Miss UT and Ga at home .. we are now 1-1 in those 4 .. we need a win over the hated Vols or Ga to have a season thats truly special . .

Would be very good. To lose to that Ole Miss team is disappointing though, wouldn’t need to beat UT or MSU to go 9-3. Ole Miss is honestly butt.
9-3 with the Ole Miss would be disappointing... overall good to great, but still disappointing that we blew a chance.

Any loss is tough to take, you guys are overlooking OM being 5-0 and tied for the lead in the West. It isn't like they were Vandy.
Yep. Didn’t lose to a cupcake. Should have won the game, yeah. We aren’t bulletproof yet. Still believe we are advancing though. My hope isn’t dashed a bit.

If you are going to be disappointed with a 9 win season, you're cheering for the wrong team.

7-5 isn’t out of the realm of possibility so 9-3 is an outstanding season for KY.

With the way Miss State and Tenn have looked today, I’d say it’s more likely a 7-5 season than a 9-3. I still predict 8-4 though.

If teams on our schedule play TN and MSU your statement is false.

9-3 would be another good year. Keep stringing them together
