In 31 of the past 36 tournaments, two or more teams seeded No. 7 or worse have reached the Sweet Sixteen. Only once (1995) in the past 36 tournaments has there NOT been a team seeded No. 7 or worse reaching the Sweet Sixteen. Additionally, in 31 of the last 36 tournaments, one or more teams seeded No. 11 or worse reached the Sweet Sixteen. There's an average of 1.5 of those per year.
I was making out my bracket while reading this today in a link a buddy sent to me. I had none of the above reaching where the stats overwhelmingly suggest they will. I'm going to have to go back and re-examine some 7-11 seeds.
Do you have a 7, 8, 9, 10 or 11 seed that you really like, and why?
