A bad situation brewing at Indiana right now with Mike Woodson.

They got mauled by 19 last night at Penn State. They played us in Iowa City one week ago and lead 28-6 against us to start the game and Iowa ended up beating them.

The team was pre-season BG conference favorites. They now are 1-4 in the league and play Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan State in their next 3 games. Two of their better players have gone down recently with injuries and are expected to be out for some time yet.

Bottom line they will likely not even make the NCAA tourney this year.

They hired Woodson as HC when he was nearing his mid-60s and had been away from the college game since he had been a player-- 40+ years ago. Very baffling hire at the time and more baffling looking now.

Interestingly, former strong basketball powers too like Georgetown and Louisville might need HC changes soon too.

Don't forget UNC. I mean they made the final four last year but were hot garbage most of the season and this year is no different. Duke has a better record than UNC or UK but they have played nobody. Coach K set up Scheyer with a powder puff schedule knowing they would lose momentum if they had a .500 record Jon's first year.

I don't think either North Carolina or Duke is in the same situation or even close to it as is Louisville or Georgetown.

I will say though, Roy WIlliams at NC and Coach K at Duke set standards that will be very hard for the current coaches at those schools to match. But neither place is nowhere close to putting the heat on those coaches yet.

Payne at Louisville simply has an absolutely terrible team and likely will get at least one more year or two to get it going in the right direction.

Ewing at Georgetown I felt was a bad hire from the beginning-- they were thinking with their hearts instead of their heads with that hire. That's just not going to end well in D.C.
