I endeavored to determine to what extent my wardrobe, superstitions, and rituals might have on sporting outcomes of my favorite teams. For instance, in the past, when a close game was winding down, I'd get out of my comfy chair, and pace in front of the TV. This seemed to often be detrimental to win/loss ratios, so I stopped it. I started tracking event outcomes based on what team gear I was wearing. I had bought an Ohio State football sweatshirt, and become convinced it won them a championship. (football only, don't start with me)
So I started alternating my gear each game. I might wear a hat, t-shirt, and my UK shoes during a game. Or i might wear just one item, and rotate thru them game to game. I also tried watching without gear, and with other sports teams gear. Like wearing a Red's hat while watching a Kentucky game.
So, after reviewing the data, which I won't bore you with. I have concluded that what I do, or wear, has almost nothing to do with eventual outcomes.

(next, because there are 5 TV's in my house, I will rotate between them)

I ride the hot hand (sweatshirt) until we take a loss, then rotate out. I also have a certain placement for my cell phone and remote as I watch. Yes, during last 2 min I'm often standing in front of the TV.

I have a shirt I've not worn since we won the title in 2012

I also don't buy new UK gear unless we make a FF. Just a tradition. So, yeah, unless I got it as a gift, I haven't bought new UK gear since 2015.

I wore the same UK gear every game the 2012 season EXCEPT for at IU because I was at a funeral and my lucky UK 1996 Final Four cutoff and Tubby-era UK Nike shorts weren't funeral appropriate. I wore this to the two games I attended at Rupp that year - UL and Vandy (with pants on over the shorts and a hoodie over the cutoff).

I intentionally didn't wear the gear for the SECT final because I thought they needed a reality check. Wore that gear the rest of the season and we know the result. I had finally found the magic gear and we would surely never lose a game again as long I was rocking my lucky duds.

The next season, same gear was worthless and got us an NIT.

That's pretty much when I ditched the apparel superstitions and no longer have lucky clothes.

I like it. You're managing the team by superstition.

I got a new UK shirt last season for the first time in a decade and we lost to UNC-Wilmington that night.

I got a UK baseball CWS shirt and welp ...

This year I bought a really cool white hoodie with the old school wildcat logo, and got two more hoodies for Christmas...... We only had 2 losses at that point.

Don't worry no more UK gear for me.😃

Too many to list out here, but here are a few:
-Drink green tea from my lucky (and unwashed since the SEC Tourney of 2014) mug.
-Blue shirt and sweatshirt on away games, whites on home, and grey/black on neutral courts.
-Pull brim of hat and bring hands down on free-throws.
